Make a new hero blizz. Rip some assets from hiveworkshop, or take your hidden or unused assets and slap togehter one or more new heroes. For instance, you can use archimonde and introduce the warlock hero etc. This way you have the models for the classic and reforged graphics. Just change his color palette and remove some detail idk. You should honestly be paying me for giving u these great ideas and so on. Im trying to save the game here. New season is in 2026. You can introduce him/her/it then.
I don’t think brand new content is in the cards. And it’s a lot of work to add a new unit because it will impact overall game balance.
I forgot to mention that it should be a tavern hero, but maybe that was obvious. Anyways, the hero doesnt have to be a power creep, like how it is usually (in leauge of legends, hearthstone etc.) Just something fun and interesting. It wont be hard to do since they can just take existing assets or import from WoW. They really should have done this with the release of reforged. Nowadays they seem to care more than in the past about the state of the game as they have been making some daring changes lately, and this could another very interesting one.
I mean just because everyone can use it doesn’t mean it won’t affect game balance. I realized that by only adding one hero that’s what you meant.
Affecting game balance is fine so long as it doesnt make one race completely domineering. All changes made affect game balance but blizzard still makes them to improve on the game and keep things exciting.
Another benefit of making/announcing the making of a new hero is that it can bring hype/new players back to the game. I dont know if you follow fighting games, but it is usually very exciting when a new/returning character is announced. Player counts go up and the player base get renewed vigor.
You’re preaching to the choir, I know new content can help the game but from Blizzard’s side, the cost benefit analysis of adding new content probably isn’t favorable.
After adding a new content, players will become more enthusiastic and ask for more additions
If multiple tavern heroes are added, you know that there is no page turning function in the official version. Adding one more building would make it appear bloated. Once the number of tavern heroes exceeds 12, players may request hero rotation. Such endless demands are very unreasonable. It would be better to spend resources on updating the editor
I agree. But from the business side, you have to make a case that doing something is worth the time and cost. This is known as a “cost-benefit analysis.” Unfortunately normally when these are done they don’t look 10 moves ahead and think, “well if we do this, then people will want more, and then we make more, and then tehy want more, so it’s worth it.”
No, they only look at the thing being proposed and determine if it’s worth doing in a vacuum
Really though, if they want to add new content, it would probably be via a new expansion or something which would add lots of things, not just “a new hero” or “a new unit” or "a new . No, it would be something like making the Naga playable or entire new tilesets and campaign missions, etc.
This will cause an every lasting storm of requesting more and more features to the editor. It will become unreasonable very quickly. It is better to focus on fixing the balance of the game.
