So far the graphics looks OK, but if this is all there is I’m not buying it.
A lot of textures look badly outdated, deep water has a dull blue looking, in the small water you almost to none see the footsteps or the splashing water effects.
Terrain needs a lot of love also.
But overall so far, when I turn everything to max settings: Models, Terrain, Water and everything else in the game it becomes like PLASTIC Graphics!
Is like I’m playing with PLASTIC TOYS, there is no natural look or at least something close to it, to feel more realistic.
The graphics of this beta still bad and weak, the actually beta are looking like an old game with this downgrade of the graphics! An old game with remaked Models,Buildings,Icons and other new things. Warcraft 3 Reforged needs urgently improve the Lighting,Shadows,Terrain and the UI to looks like the awesome 2018 Demo! The demo from two years ago looked perfect! The realistic modern graphics from the demo matched so well with the modern realistic artstyle of the models and buildings choosed by them! So… Please back with the Modern Graphics from the 2018 demo and improve the Terrain,Lighting,Shadows and bring back too the UI shown before!
How can a texture look “badly outdated”? They are still the same 32 bit RGBA texels that modern games use.
Might be related to the map not being designed for Reforged. One could get StarCraft II to look similar if one messed with the lighting enough
Except if you wanted to actually play the game as opposed to awe at how good it looked. A lot of complaints were made at the time about the usability of both UI and the unit looks. Specifically the floating portrait was prone to miss-clicks when used to self target and the units all looked like clones so it was difficult to tell them apart.
