A kind request: Grom Hellscream

Hi there,

First of all, thank you for restoring my old memories and childhood! I’m so damn excited about Warcraft III: Reforged!

I’m here for some requests about my (most probably) all times favorite video game character: Grom Hellscream.

Back in early 2000’s Grom Hellscream was the coolest Orc around for many people. He became iconic with his appearance, personality etc. Even many other franchises copied his looking for their own products. BUT unfortunately Grom’s charisma was nowhere close to his original version in Warlords of Draenor. His appearance, his voice, his personality… it was just a random brown Orc warrior, not Grom.

So, my requests are:

  • PLEASE do not use that extremly ugly wannabe Saurfang WoD Grommash face for Grom in Death of Hellscream cinematic. He looked nothing like Grom Hellscream we know. Even Garrosh looked more like Grom in that WoD intro. Grom we know has a long, slim face (kinda like a skull), large jaw/chin, long distance between upper lips and nose (unlike pig) and a slender, yet straight and athletic body.

  • PLEASE do not forget about his pitch-black lower jaw. Garrosh’s lower jaw is kind of brownish but Grom’s is pure black like coal. Do not miss it aswell please.

  • PLEASE do not give him Blademaster hero kit. It’s been an argument for years and Grom’s fantasy is nothing like Blademaster. He is a pure Berserker Warrior. “Hit once, no need to hit second time” type of warrior. He should be bloodthirsty as hell.

  • PLEASE do not use “Grommash” name. “Grom” sounds way more badass and restores our old memories for him.

  • PLEASE do not edit his voice data. Let his voice actor remain Arthur Burghardt (I also want him to voice Grom in Heroes of the Storm). Kevin Michael Richardson is a great voice actor but he is not Grom. Maybe Blackhand, Orgrim etc but definitely not Grom.

  • LAST BUT NOT LEAST (i know this one is way too much but i will give it a shot :stuck_out_tongue: ) Please release figures of Warcraft III: Reforged heroes as you did back in Warcraft III release time. I would kill for a high quality Grom Hellscream figure :slight_smile:

If I’m not wrong then “Grommash” was the name of the Grom from the alternate universe and not from the real Grom.

I’m actually excited about how they are gonna make Grom, I do not care much if he has the Blademaster class, as long he don’t has that Sashimono behind his back. I hope they make the red glowing eyes and axe in it’s WOW design, which was the only thing that didn’t looked good on his model in the original WC3.

Damn I forgot how ugly Grom was in WoD haha
I think the Warcraft movie really nailed him, and I do agree with most of what you said too (except the black chin thingy)

UPDATED

  • Added voice actor request for Grom Hellscream. I want Arthur Burghardt (Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos - Grom Hellscream) as Grom Hellscream voice actor. He did great job in Warcraft III Reign of Chaos. Kevin Michael Richardson (Warlords of Draenor - Grommash) is not really fitting for this role.

Arthas and Uther are gonna be alternative Paladin skin for online mode. Jaina an alternative skin for Arch Mage.

Then Grom is sadly gonna be an alternate skin for Blade Master.

I’m big fan of Garrosh and how he looked in WoD cinematic, but the Grom in WoD cinematic looked like a pig.

I personally think Grom is going to look like how he was in the deleted scene in Warcraft movie:

He could be a Tauren Chieftain, if you stretch your imagination enough. lol

I would love to see a new kit on his campaign version (provided it can even be altered), he could be like Akama, different skills rearranged to form a new hero. But it would be dope to see s completely new skillset.

Grom was ALWAYS described as slender, and that movie was a trainwreck.

Honestly, I just want to make sure ALL of his jaw is tattooed and he’s thin. Aside from that, I don’t mind any changes.

Grom was always Grommash. Same way Broxigar is sometimes just Brox. It’s just a shortened variation.

Would like it, but at the same time, very weird.

Grom is definitely not slender… he is one of the bigger Orcs.

The Orcs in the movie are excellent. The Human part and Garona ruined the Warcraft movie for me.

Grom is described similarly in “Lord of the Clans,” too. He has always been described as slender. Again, the movie is non-canon garbage.

no we should not make a movie version out of grom let him be slender and green skin like he is in warcraft 3 that meens 2 grom skins for blade master i think red and green!
it be strange to change the warcraft 3 model based on movie and wow version instead and to make it a new class then you change the core of the story and lore
i wuld kinda be mad if they change rexxar from beastmaster to survival like wow did… so no ty for wow lore and movie lore to be forced here!
wow is based around the warcraft rts game and books but does not follow warcraft story completely just like the movie…

From what I’ve read, it seems like we might get a story line for sylvanas since she is a very important character in WoW, so hopefully we get a Grom story line as well, I really hope they take advantage of this and give random characters that deserve more of a backstory and explanation a campaign story line, even if its only a few missions. But yeah everything you said I guess, idc how he looks :slight_smile:

Grom is the Warchief of the Warsong Clan. One of the youngest ever actually.

He just wasn’t ever the Warchief of the Horde as a whole.

Also as many people are saying. Yes, Grom Hellscream is supposed to be tall and slender (lanky) for an Orc. Although he is still supposed to be muscular–think more like Eren’s Attack Titan form in attack on Titan compared to Reiner’s Armored Titan.

i know the story, but they were hinting on an actual story, not a mission, and not her as the enemy, I’m assuming they’re talking about giving her a quest line like thrall. Could be wrong tho
