Maybe even 5x4 should do the trick.
So, it is either 15 buttons or 20? “Now which will it be?” - Starcraft I Marine quote from Boot Camp mission

In the first preview of Reforged, they showed a 6x2 command card with certain spell/abilities being larger. They also said it would be customizable, and they were testing out a variety of things.
I wouldnt mind a 5x3 card for custom games, but 5x4 is way too big. Even 5x3 is overkill for standard melee. The most common hotkey setup is to align the hotkeys to match the keyboard grid like
QWERTY
ASDFG
ZXCV
With inventory hotkeys we already have a 6x3 command card (and ctrl # keys makes 6x4) see here
Since there might not be any new races… How about adding new units, new Heroes, new upgrades and new abilities to each of the current 4 playable races? But to do this, there has to be 15 or 20 command keys (15 command keys like in Starcraft II). I rather prefer 20 command keys.
Besides, I got Warcraft III Text Project of the Demon, Naga and Corrupted races, but was thinking just today that instead the units, Heroes, upgrades, and abilities of those 3 unofficial Ladder races should be split for the Human, Orc, Undead, and Night Elf official race instead.
Blizzard Entertainment may have clearly stated they don’t want a “new game” as stated by an official gamemaster, but that doesn’t mean the old can’t have new upgraded content in it (unless that counts for them as a “new game”).
But almost anyhow, I got more than plenty of ideas, I would want for the 4 currently playable races, especially since the new awesome ideas should not go to waste. But I wonder if I am going to get a temporarily ban again, if I try to post the new units, new Heroes, and new abilities, but may it never happen again to me…
Save that for Co-op where new races don’t have to make sense, are fun and can be made overpowered.
Multiplayer should stay the same. Hell, they could even do an April fools just like SC2 where you fight each other.
IMO 3 settings should do the trick:
Classic: As we have now. 4x3
Reforged: As we saw at “The Culling.” 6x2.
Expanded: A 5x4 meant for custom maps(though you can set it like this if you want in any mode.)
And yes we absolutely need a QWER hotkey system.
I actually have always liked Brood Wars 3x3. Yea, it doesn’t really work but i have always liked it.
That should be Expansion material if we ever get around to that conversation.
Anything that requires balancing of new units and new heroes would have to be budgetted into a new game. Reforged isn’t heavy on adding new designs to the game; there’s barely any new abilities outside of what we got with the Necro rework and Orb of Fire changes, so I don’t think we should be expecting a whole lot here.
I think this is a conversation Blizzard will need to have after Reforged is out and in the market. $$$ will determine the possibility for DLC or new expansions.
Those expansions would have to completely reuse existing models and factions and not add anything new though, in order to maintain the cross-compatibility with Classic WC3.
Reforged campaign is not compatible with Warcraft 3 so you wrong.
4x3 ability icons is a ratio from God, just like Terry Davis when he communed with God learned that we need 640x480 screen resolution on God’s Temple Operating System. This is because 640x480 is a 4x3 aspect ratio.
Now firstly, let me inform you that 4x3 = 12.
The number 12 is a symbol of faith, the church and divine rule. The number 12 features prominently in the Bible. The Old Testament Book of Genesis states there were 12 sons of Jacob and those 12 sons formed the 12 tribes of Israel. The New Testament tells us that Jesus had 12 apostles.
You see, there’s a reason behind all of this. Twelve is the number, okay? There are 12 possible ability icons, and you can select 12 possible units. There are 12 hours shown on the game clock, and items have one half of 12 available slots, meaning that there are six slots, to signify that items are half as significant as other abilities.
There are three races in Starcraft and four races in Warcraft and the product of three and four is twelve.
12 is also the original number of tile sets and the original limit for the number of tiles per tileset
12 is how many players you are allowed to have at one time in one game of Warcraft III
Player(12) programmatically refers to Neutral Hostile who is basically a deity
Almost 12 years ago in 2008, Activison bought out Blizzard Entertainment.
No but multiplayer is.
Are you going to lock an entire new faction out of multiplayer? Cos I’m pretty sure no one unironically wants that.
Retera. I got to reply to you about your post that you just posted. Blizzard will not like it and will remove it anytime soon, just like what happened to me, so you better remove it as soon as possible. I accept your reply, though, but other people won’t, so…
Your reply was the 12th message on this thread
My Warcraft Model Editor that was originally named Matrix Eater was written in 2012, twenty TWELVE while I was in the 12th grade in high school
World of Warcraft peaked in subscriber count when the game had 12 races. Then they added more races and the subscriber count fell drastically
If you take the length of the string “Warcraft III” on a computer, including the space, it is 12 characters. If you take the length of the string “Starcraft II” on the computer, it is also 12 characters.
Ryan Kinports, an associate producer pictured next to Grubby on twitter when Grubby was at the Reforged announcement last summer, has 12 letters between his first and last names combined. Grubby’s internet handle, “FollowGrubby” also consists of 12 characters.
The name “MomoiroCrose” consists of 12 letters.
When I scrolled up past MomoiroCrose, the previous post was by “FilthyCasual” who also has 12 characters in his name.
Yes. I want that. I do not want new factions in multiplayer. That will ruin balance. Co-op and new campaigns only or get out. Even 4 races has proven nightmarish to balance. Most RTS do 3 for a reason.
Why do i get suspended for trolling in a funny way and yet this guy gets away with it…?
Depends on who actually finds your trolling funny.
