4v4 match making

I actually am interested in how this makes sense to blizzard?

Every single player on team 2 has better mmr than any player on team 1.

4597, 4174, 3318, 4439 vs 5065, 5349, 5717, 5164

My friend! Winners get better teams, and losers should get worse stats. They will probably never fix it. There’s no balance in the game at all. I stopped playing on Battle.net. I play 4v4 on WC3 Champions. There’s more to pursue there, like levels and more rewards. I’m not a very good player, but I can play solo and 4v4 there. They have no unfairness. They really have the right system that makes teams fair. My friend, I promise I’ve completely quit Battle.net. It’s fun at first, but when you notice everything that’s wrong, it’s not as enjoyable anymore.

This is in all team queues, but it’s actually worst in 2vs2. It will nearly always pick 4 people and put the two higher MMRs on one team and the two lower MMRs on the other, absolutely rigging the matches and setting people who lost their first few games up to fail. Once you lose a couple games and drop below like 4800 or so it becomes literally impossible to win most of the time, as you’re always going to be stuck with someone else in the same position as you against a significantly stronger team.

This is aboslutely my biggest beef with the game right now. Only 1v1 is really as enjoyable as it should be because this issue only affects team games.

Its arranged team vs random team.
4 decent players premade vs 4 noobs random team.
Enjoy.

I don’t agree with you about 1v1. It can happen that you get matched with a 5300 MMR player against a 4200 MMR player. It has happened a few times.
There’s nothing to gain in Battle.net. The best option is WC3 Champions; they have the right balance in 4v4. Additionally, they have lower-skilled players in solo, around 700-900 Elo/MMR.

This is different. If there aren’t enough players available, the range it will match you in will widen. It isn’t straight up rigging the way team games are. Without a large enough playerbase sometimes you get wide gaps. The actual and easily fixable issue is with team games. It’s an incredibly simple fix to just ensure that the four (six, eight) players selected for the match are sorted such that the average MMR between the two sides is as close as it can be. And yet the game doesn’t do that.

I still don’t think it’s acceptable to match a 4200 against a 5300. If they are going to have an MMR system, it should be more structured in its approach. For people to embrace MMR, they need to see that they can progress and develop, not just lose every match because others have a higher MMR.

I know team 2 is Arranged AT team of 4x. That is the reason!
I said lot of times AT vs RT is not fair!

This is typical in games beyond War3. Ask yourself: would you rather wait 2, 3, 4 times longer to get an optimal matchup? or are you willing too face a potentially easier or more difficult opponent by not having to wait as long?

I’m not saying it’s a perfect strategy (having checkboxes to say whether or not you want to do these things would be nice IMO), however, it is in their best interest to keep queue times reasonable. If you have to wait forever for a game it creates the impression nobody is playing, even when there is, which makes people more likely to quit.

The issue with team games really needs to be addressed. With regards to 1v1 though, while an option as to whether or not you’re willing to wait for a better matchup would be nice, I rather doubt they would implement it (But I would want it).

Arranged team vs RT is an issue, but it’s not what’s being discussed here, this is is a separate issue.

But in the Initiator’s Example the answer is that it was RT vs AT,
a lot of us had the same opinion, plus I know team 2 from games.

players on an arranged team will all have the same MMR, so the original poster was not talking about AT vs RT.

If you see four players all with different MMRs, they are not an arranged team.

Totally wrong, I played in AT and we had different - our own MMR.
Yes in some cases you can also be right, but I saw few situations. As I noticed is not a rule.

Muahhahahaha very fun, nice fairy tale…
Its AT vs RT and in battlenet its stomp, stomp and stomp.

Totally right, not wrong. Your personal MMR is not displayed on the loading screen when you’re in an AT. The AT has its own MMR which is displayed for all members of that AT on the loading screen.

In other areas, like the profile, it may be different. but on the loading screen, if you see different numbers on each player, they are not an AT. Period.

BN 4vs4 = random team,
W3C 4vs4 = bad map+long wait time
so your choice

"Bnet 4v4 = Random teams. Frequent leavers with no back-to-back fights for several minutes.

WC3C 4v4 = Can have long wait times, but it’s worth it for the back-to-back fights, and if there are leavers, it results in a draw. WC3C also has a level system."

So does bnet, it just isnt working as intended.

But no, I’d rather just play, I’m not waiting a super long time for a match, especailly since, even if people don’t lieave, I’m still going to be berated for inferiority, in fact moreso since the players on w3c tend to be higher tier at the game.

I just wish they’d fix the damn thing so it works so we don’t need a third party ranked system at all.

Unfortunately run of the mill players don’t know about mods like W3C and like me, are probably of the mind that you shouldn’t NEED mods to enjoy the game. Also like me, they will often see the name “W3Champions” and assume (truthfully) that it’s for elite players. Which it is, no matter how much anyone tries to deny it. If you’re not a particularly decent player, you’re going to have a bad time. Whereas on bnet I can actually win games.

Captain, I agree with you on almost everything. However, I don’t agree with you on the quote I posted. It’s not accurate; there are indeed some poor players who play 4v4 or solo games. If your rating is between 700-800, you might not be very skilled. However, if you’re completely new to the game, it can be a bit challenging initially. But if you’ve been playing for a few weeks, there shouldn’t be any issues.

You can kind of get away with it in 4v4 because there are going to be good players that can carry you. But in 1v1 and 2v2 especially, you gotta pull your weight or get crushed.
