The first suggestion is for an additional control scheme, borrowed from Dota 2.
While you have a hero selected, by holding Ctrl, military units in a radius around the hero will automatically share all the commands you issue. It eliminates the need for box selection or setting up control groups constantly throughout a game. It should make the game much more accessible to newer players.
Additionally, there should be a hot key to bring all nearby units to that hero into an active control group, and there should be a separate key to select units with an active ability(casters).
I believe the AoE size on these selection/commands should be a setting option as well.
It should make for a much improved control scheme compared to what we had back in the day, it should also even speed up micro for pro players in some cases.
The second suggestion is for a Draft Mode to be added to melee maps, or at least an experimental option for it officially.
Where for the first 60 seconds of the match, your buildings complete instantly, as well as your hero/unit build times, but you can’t travel more than 800 units from your town hall or mine gold/lumber. After the timer passes the match resumes as normal, but it eliminates the tedium of working fast at the start of every match to get your units mining and starter buildings set up.
It’s just a quality of life feature more than everything that lets new/old players get set up stress free to start each match, and have their hero + units ready to go creeping. I don’t think it would affect balance in any way, but we’d have to see.
Research timers such as backpack should be locked. Also can unit backpacks just be enabled by default for everyone? Or can the upgrade be placed in a different building?
