Window mode changes automatically after Downloading Settings

Hello,

Need your help. When I run Starcraft Remastered, a dialog first says AUTHENTICATING, then DOWNLOADING SETTINGS. The moment it downloads the settings, the game window mode is changed from the setting I put offline (Windowed Fullscreen) to Fullscreen. That will cause my game to have black screen because my screen is bigger than my GPU can handle. What I do after is close the game and load it again but it will always load in fullscreen and black. So I access Documents/Starcraft/Csettings.json and update WindowMode from 2 to 1. Then I’m able to launch the game in windowed fullscreen, but the dialog comes again, and the windowmode setting is changed from 1 to 2 rendering the game in a loop of black screen. Please help how can I prevent downloading the settings from the cloud, or how can I overwrite them?

I don’t know if this will work, but give it a try.

  1. Make the CSettings.json file read-only in properties then run SC:R.
  2. You can try temporarily deleting high resolution through the CRU software. (Restore function is included.)
