Soooo, new season with out new portrait its not a new season

Probably not a thing anymore. They confirmed there wouldn’t be any season rewards this time around so I doubt it will be any different in future seasons. I’m guessing there’s no one assigned to do the art anymore.
Starcraft II has only gotten one new portrait in the last year and it was a cropped version of a piece that had already been commissioned for ESL earlier in the year. As for Warcraft III Reforged getting new version of the ladder portraits: I’m assuming those were already done over a year ago. And I’m assuming that the Blizzard 30th Anniversary portraits were made for BlizzCon 2020 before it got canceled and replaced with BlizzConline.
We’re getting to the point with Starcraft II, Starcraft Remastered, and Heroes of the Storm where “No more paid content” likely just means “No more content”. I don’t expect further seasonal cosmetics or even Starcraft items attached to BlizzCon tickets in the future.
