Unit Cap Removal

Hey guys!

I don’t know if it is possible, but I really want to be able to exceed 200 supply in my standards games against AI. When you play on massive maps, it’s fun to have a huge army that spawns across the entire map, but the 200 cap limits it.

Now, I don’t want to use weird work arounds involving nukes, cancelling drone buildings, or Dark archoning a new race. I use Staredit right now for my map making, so if anyone knows a way to remove it via staredit, that’s awesome.

If there is an easily downloadable mod that allows me to exceed, that’s cool too.

I just want to build past 200 supply. Even 400 is a huge difference.

I’m pretty sure it’s possible to bypass the unit cap.
One way to achieve it would be to create a new set of units with lower population cost. Another is to give units to the players instead of building them (using triggers).

But I’m pretty sure there already exist mods that do that, though I don’t remember which one, sorry.

On a side note, what is this trick you’re thinking about involving nukes and population cap ?

Build/add a Command Center to a Nuclear Silo containing a Nuke from another player, to steal the Nuke.

Ah, that’s funny ! I had always wondered why they had not included nuclear silos in SC 2, and now I know.

Back in the day, using custom map editors you could place certain units for certain VERY LARGE player numbers (player 100+) and it would affect currently used supply, maximum supply (could go past 200, be as large as you want), and current available supply cap. I’m not sure if this still works in the current version of SCR. I would imagine they fixed that like they fixed the player colors thing because it was breaking the game and modifying the memory in unintended ways and could cause desyncs and crashes.
