Unable to Load Saved File error

Hi everyone.

So I unearthed my OG StarCraft from my Windows 98SE PC and been playing it a lot. But now i want to move my save data file to my laptop to be able to play on the go. So i copied the character SPC file and the save folder with my game saves for the SPC profile and moved them to my StarCraft Remastered version in their respective locations. It technically shows the profile and Save Datas when done, but when i attempt to load them, i get the error message as seen in the title of this report.

My speculation makes me think that it is due to the version type of the game since the Win 98SE uses the 1.05b version. This version difference is most likely the culprit of my woes and so I manually patched my Win 98SE StarCraft to 1.16b and that failed as well as I noticed that when i attempted to load the saves in the patched version, it crashed the game. Weird isn’t it?

Any ideas on how to possibly convert the save file to the newest version without restarting all the campaigns?

Thank you for any insight you may spare!

Edit 1: Fix typos.

Edit 2:
So I made a discovery just a while ago.

So even though I technically cannot play the save data, the save data unlocked the chapters that I did complete and the one i am currently on. So I can resume off Protoss Level 7 which is the level I am currently on.

So no need to restart all the way from the Terran campaign.

So in essence, i have the ability to pick up where i left off, I just have to restart Protoss Level 7.

But it would still be nice to learn how to convert the save data to the most current patch though.
