Starcraft Remastered menu slowness on Mac

Thank you. When I unselect the hardware acceleration things get MUCH worse. After clicking “multiplayer” and selection expansion the Ok button on the right never becomes clickable. Thoughts?

I think we won’t have any help soon. BrowserProxy is a bomb: they have a chromium browser builtin and uses javascript to do the coding. It is the nightmarish web development state brought to a 27 years old game that used to work flawless. Thx web devs!

Well is not like Javascript or the use of web technologies is a bad thing, it’s more like the support from Blizzard’s team is not the right one, they need to update the CEF version that they are using in the game to bring more compatibility to our systems based on ARM chips. It’s as if we all have the right combination for the game to work badly, of course it is not our fault. We have the right to complain but we also need someone to listen to us!

I though about something else that might help.

MacOS SOMETIMES activate Game Mode, which means giving higher priority to the game BUT BrowserProxy might not be considered part of the game and, therefore, ends up having less CPU time.

I will pay attention to that, try to disable and enable when needed to check it.

Bumping for blizzard to take this issue serious and issue a fix ASAP!

it’s been happening to my Mac too mine is M2 and I play only Starcraft for years and lagging same issue from half a year ago. still don’t know why

Hey all,

As an experiment, try toggling the “Use browser hardware acceleration” in the launcher. (What ever it is currently set to, change it to the other.)

This has worked for some. Regardless, feel free to post the results here in the thread.

it was checked on my app. now I clicked it again to unmark and let me play one game and I will be back

now after one game played, cpu % 103. didn’t work

When I turn off hardware acceleration then it takes several minutes to log into battlenet and doesn’t fix the slow menu loading.

Hello, Blizzard. Please fix this bug Thank you.

I noticed that, after certain games (specially if it is a long one), BrowserProxy go crazy at 100% CPU, and stays there. The only “fix” is for me to exit Starcraft, and enter again.

Yeah…not much of a fix.

Blizzard just doesn’t work with mac. Either get windows or get group of friends to wait for you to load.

Hey, Blizzard, please fix this!

don’t even think they do. its been a long time they don’t care maybe there’s no worker for the issue at all

My hope it’s that they are going to launch the game in Xbox Game Pass, with this release it is convenient for them that the game works well everywhere, that’s what I hope!!! Please Blizzard fix the game for us the real fans!

Hey Blizzard, you made this “technical support” forum. How about some support?

Bliz’s support forums aren’t official contact points. They are for player-to-player assistance.

The only official support is through the support ticket system.

I’ve created a ticket support, I’ll keep you posted guys about any updates from Bliz’s team.
