Just curious if something is being made about this? Grinding 1v1 ladder is fun sure. But there is so many people that wants to play 2v2 matchmaking. Someone heard anything new about this? It’s been a while now and Blizzard is a big company i’m sure they can do something.
It also feels like we are being forgotten and let down over and over again.
The last statement about it was two years ago when Grant Davies said that it was further delayed because developers from other teams who had been helping got pulled away. Since then development has been limited to supporting ladder seasons with new portraits and map pools, fixing bugs, and working on compatibility updates. Davies left Blizzard over a year ago and most of the developers involved with SCR, SC2, WC3R, and HotS have also either left or moved to other teams.
As far as I can tell, it’s not going to happen. Almost everyone who specializes in RTS has left the company. If it did happen, Blizzard would likely be outsourcing it to an external studio and, judging by how that’s been going with WC3R, I don’t picture the results being very positive.
I said it once and i will say it again. Blizzard will eventually have to hire a team to do a cloud version of it, if i have to make an estimate on when? i would say at least another 10 years. but it will happen, a better SC with a LOT better features.
