I just downloaded the free version of starcraft from the blizzard site and there’s no sound at any point in game. Please assist

I have since time immemorial used the free version of Starcraft, or pirated versions when it was not free (sorry Blizzard, take that as a compliment) and never had any trouble related to sound.
So, I highly doubt it’s an issue with the game per se, given that in addition, there would probably be many people complaining if it was the case.
That said, maybe we can still fix the problem.
First of all : do you use external speakers or headphones ? If you do, are you sure your computer recognizes them, and that Starcraft’s sound is sent to that audio ?
Then, can you hear sound when playing other games/watching videos ?
Lastly, did you check that your sound (both general and in-game) was not deasctivated/reduced to zero ?

(For the record, I’m on Windows 10 and use Realtek audio too.)
