Starcraft encountered an unexpected error on start-up, crashing

Recently (the past two days) Starcraft is unable to start. The game ran fine on Sunday/Monday but since Tuesday began to crash, as far as I’m aware nothing on my computer changed between the game working and the game crashing.

Hey Scimo,

Are you running the Blizzard app as Admin? If so, then there may be conflicts with other programs (such as security software). If you still have issues, let’s grab a DxDiag so we can take a closer look:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type DxDiag and press Enter.
  3. In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
  4. Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save
  5. Paste the DxDiag contents between three ~~~, it will look like so:
