SCMDraft 2 - Set Specific Start Location

Hello All,

I have been looking all over the internet the past few days trying to find an answer to this question. How do I make it so Player 1 always starts in a designated spot on a map I am creating. I have a map where I’d like Player 1 to start in the top left corner and player 2 to start in the bottom left corner. I’ve created start locations and assigned players to them by going to Units–>Neutrals–>Start Locations, then double click them to assign to a player.

I then go into unit settings and unclick “randomize start location”. I also made sure only player 1 and 2 are in Unit 1 while the computers are in Unit 2.

I even made a location and assigned it to a player by “brining” the player to there and “center the view” there too.

I also assigned a color to the start locations and players and made a Unit Sprite Start Locations to be near Unit Start Locations, and they all are the same color and assigned to the same player.

Despite all this, every time I play, I never can start where I want to. How do you make it so player 1 and player 2 start in a spot you designate, every time or is this impossible? I have yet to see anyone explain this on any website. It doesn’t seem like it should be this difficult. You’d think by assigning a color/player to a starting location it would be that simple but it doesn’t seem to be so.

Hi! You can ask here too:

as these are sites specialized in map making.

If you want starting positions to be fixed for each player, you have to play the map on Use Map Settings instead of Melee/Free For All mode.
