No longer can play StarCraft without Internet connection

Hi,

I’m no longer able to play both StarCraft Remastered and Starcraft II when fully offline. The games will pretend updating even when they are fully up to date unless I connect to the internet once. This seem to be a bug.

To reproduce:

• Reboot

• Ensure the internet if off.

• Open Battle.net

• Click “Continue Offline”

• Observe: “Update” button instead of “Play” eventhough the game is fully up to date.

• Clicking on Update button may show “We’re having a problem transferring data” error.

At this point connecting to the internet and clicking “Update” button will pretend update is done and the button will change to “Play”.

After that i’m able to disconnect, restart battlenet and the “Play” button is still there and the games launch fine. If I reboot my computer, i won’t be able to play.

Hi! Have you tried launching the game this way to play it offline before?

I’m posting this for 2 reasons. #1: I am so overwhelmingly glad I know this information now, and #2: I want Rozen to know this info too. Basically, you make a shortcut on your desktop to the game you want (SCR in your case; the actual game exe, not the “launcher” exe). Then, you right-click it and select Properties. From there, go to the Target line and add “-launch” so that it looks something like ...\StarCraft.exe" -launch noticing the space between the " and the -.
