Hello guys, I was hoping for your help with a simple matter. I recently deleted my name ‘SpeciaLisT’ USEast in order to get it on USWest (Since it kept saying the profile is already in use, even though when i Whisper the name…it whispers me since it’s my BNET ID name). And it didn’t work…and I couldn’t remake it on USEast even though I can remake names in general if i were to delete any name. So please help me get my name back if possible, it is a 20 year old name that I’ve been using.
Thank you for reading.
you can have 3 IDs per each region …
YOu didnt have to delete your _USwest for a US east …
If you cant make it… It either is already in use in that region…or You can make it because of bad language…
If you whiper in East to your name it will get to you … In west probally not …
But yeah, the game has many problems with the different regions… like People not seeing that you are not online because you are in other region and etc.
Also depending in which region you join.
Players not able to find you in a global search machine(there isnt one other than the ladder one-> you can find players over the ladder, if they have played it and even ask friendship over there ) for all players, but the need to actually have played together, or be on the same channel so you actually ask for add friendship, etc.
So if the name is already taken in the west you need to come up with a new name…
Same thing happened to me when RM came out. My gaming ID is apparently still alive because I was getting the “profile is in use” error when I tried to re-create it.
In my case what happened was I created the exact same name for my Blizzard a/c before RM came out in order to play SC2. But before RM, people did not use the Blizzard app to log into SC.
So moving forwards, I have managed to keep the original Blizzard a/c but the presence of 2 exact primary user IDs (for Broodwar pre RM and for the Blizzard app) meant I could never get back into my old Broodwar gaming account or re-create it.
In theory I had been away for more than 3 months so I guess it was fair enough but because the original gaming ID was never properly deleted, I couldn’t use that ID for gaming post Remastered. I have only been able to retain my Blizzard login ID which is somewhat meaningless except for posting here etc.
The present system of the Blizzard a/c is way better because you just have all the profiles under the Blizzard a/c. However if you have any profiles that were created pre-Remastered, then you may have a problem. Pre-remastered profiles were in essence the same as a Blizzard a/c. If they both the same name, that’s the issue I had.
Actually, it should work. If I play on Korean server, I see notifications of my friends playing on US West.
For all the friends stuff to work (including whispering), you just need to be logged into same region on Blizzard app. From that point, the server you join should be irrelevant.
There’s a small chance I am wrong because I don’t usually whisper someone on another server but theoretically what I say should be correct.
Whispering one gaming id to another id isn’t really a great test because what you really are doing is whispering from Blizzard a/c to another.
Or if both gaming IDs fall under the same blizzard a/c, you are just whispering your own Blizzard a/c.
Strictly speaking, it’s 3 gaming IDs per server. With a total of 15 gaming IDs for the 1 Blizzard a/c (5 x 3).
Toggling the region in the Blizzard app affects your friends list but that is about it.
REally how many regions are there?
Strictly speaking it is the same thing i wrote …
IT is true that you can whisper and are shown to your friends according to the region you login with in the Battlenet app …
THat is why, when you play for example north america, but login in Europe… THey cant see you as a active friend, if this is still the case… maybe they already patched it …
3 regions = Americas Europe Asia
5 game servers = US West Us East Asia Korea Europe
The regions are specific to the Blizzard app.
The 5 game servers are specific to the game client.
“you can have 3 IDs per each region …” Why did your wrote “Strictly speaking, it’s 3 gaming IDs per server. With a total of 15 gaming IDs for the 1 Blizzard a/c (5 x 3).” ?
Because you are using “region” in the wrong context. The servers are not actually called regions.
You choose your region in the Blizzard app which unless has been patched was required to have the correct friends list.
Once that region is selected, regardless of what region you choose, you can have a max of 15 gaming IDs because there is 3 gaming Ids allowed per gaming server.
If you create 15 gaming Ids, even if you change the region on the Blizzard app, you will see the same 15 gaming Ids when you load the client.
Blizzard refers to the game servers as “Gateways” (not regions). Of course, I know what you meant but it’s important to explain the difference since Blizzard uses the term “region” in the app.
