Map "corrupted"

I made a few small changes to the “(8) Jungle Rumble” map for me an a friend to play. I made the changes in an old StarEdit program (that still works fine). I can open it, and save it no problem. I can even open and save the map in SCMDraft 2, no problem.

The map cannot be played in game. Any advice?
Yes, I have already tried re-saving the map in SCMDraft 2. It saves, but is still not playable.

Hi! Have you tried switching the architecture of the game from within Blizz App? It worked for me with some EUD maps.

What does this mean? Keep it simple for me, please!!

While in Blizz App, go to Settings, then to Game Settings and tick or untick Launch 32-bit client. You can then launch the game.

Also, if this fails, you can send me the map and I’ll try to fix it for you. You could use wetransfer.com and give me the link to it.

Thanks.
Changing to 32-bit didn’t work.

Let me know if it works for you as well.

Next time you run into this problem you can load the map in the latest ScmDraft, then go to File > Save As > here set Save as type to:

Raw Starcraft: Remastered Broodwar Map (*.chk)

Or you could use Ladik’s MPQ Editor to extract the .chk:
https://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/File-Editors/Ladik-s-MPQ-Editor.shtml

Then open the saved .chk file again in ScmDraft, then go again to File > Save As > here set Save as type to:

Starcraft: Remastered Broodwar Map (*.scx)

Now the map should work in SC:R.

That’s an annoying hassle… any idea what causes a map to become “corrupted” like that??

Thanks very much - the new version works a charm! :grinning:

I have no clue, but you can ask the guys over at staredit.net, there are good chances they know about that.
You’re welcome!
