I remember when I could just insert the CD and play. The game was working just fine until the last update and now the game crashes within a minute of entering a campaign mission. How old is this game now? Why can’t I just play the game I bought over 15 years ago?

This crash appears to be related to an Access Violation when the game is attempting to perform an action. Maybe related to an outdated driver. I would recommend the following actions before trying to run the game again:

Update Windows 10 to the latest version Here.

Disable background applications using the system’s Task Manager following the steps Here. (Restart the PC before you retest the game.)
If the issue continues try running the 32bit client. Goto the StarCraft tab → Options → Game Settings → Scroll down to the StarCraft section and select: Launch 32-bit client (instead of 64-bit). Done. Retest.

Update: Though the steps above may help this does appear to be under investigation and a possible bug with the latest patch. The good news is they are focused on narrowing this down right now as I type this message and get it resolved ASAP!

F1B121B3-2897-40D8-86FC-91DC5A0D00A5 yep you all fixed something that was not broke. I lost my expansion disk years ago is the only reason I bought this game again. crap, just send me the expansion disk, the I so not have to worry about your fabulous patches

This is the latest one. Just happened a couple of minutes ago. 43AE3633-85DA-47F1-ABB1-D2F264CEFA56 Edit. Did a windows 10 update, graphics card driver updates, everything, and still games crashes after just a couple minutes.

I’m playing the 4th stage of the zerg Brood war campaign. I had encountered no crashes or problems with the game prior to today’s patch. I have not purchased the new cartoon mode, i am just playing what i was playing before. Now my game keeps crashing after playing for like 3-5 minutes. The error i get tells me to send you this report ID.

Seeing as I’m not the only one having this problem, I think it is ridiculous that the update changes nothing in the campaign, yet somehow it makes the game crash when playing it.

Makes me wonder how bad the Command& Conquer Tiberium Dawn, and Red Alert remaster bugs are going to be when they are released god knows when lol. Fortunately EA was smart for once, and is bringing in the old Westwood Studios folks to work on the remasters.
I also have gotten the game crashing error, causing me to lose points on the ladder
