When I try to create the following account: IPS.Blue
I get the following error: Invalid profile name (bad word). (Error 3:31)
The following character names do not produce an error: Blue, IPSBlue, IPS-Blue, IPS_Blue, IPS$Blue.
What is interesting is that IPS.Avenger does not produce error 3:31. Many more character names with «IPS.» in front of them are also subject to error 3:31, for example IPS.error (well, with this character name he had it coming) or IPS.lucky (this however is tragic) and so on.
Switching the gateway has no effect.
Had the same issue last year. I tried making my multiplayer user the same as my account name but still kept getting the same Error every single time, no matter how I entered it in. Eventually, I decided to settle with GenKrang instead since it was the closest to my username.
Did the account you could not create contain a dot as well?
No, but the game didn’t like my alternate names that I used, such as “GeneralKrang”, “Generalkrang”, “generalkrang”, etc. At the end of the day, the game didn’t accept the original name I was going to go for, even if I changed the casing of the username.
Such a BS with this new system. On old battle.net you could use whatever the word you wanted - on your name and lobby. Sucks.
Not being able to use my fifteen year old account is really frustrating for sure. This new system seems overzealous. Can it be tuned down?
