Duality of batzy: claiming the Game is complex af and only masterminds should Balance the Game (NOT PROGAMERS) but in another topic He Shows off how easy the Game is because its only about apm and there is nothing Special about this Game.
that was the idea, harstem/ lambo explained it nicely.
queens are more dissected by ground units like marine/ling/zealot … because you are more busy pressing transfuse than anything else.
against air units are good, the problem with void is the speed.
10 void just kill the base before queens are there to def…
was also discussed by harstem. the advantage of void player to defender.
Ofc its true. What Happend in 2019? Protoss spammed 2 Base all ins so much that blizz actually nerfed Immortal/Warp prism. Then the Adept printer was invented. We havent Seen proper pvz macro for ages so please Stop lying
Yes i referenced to that
Yes. I know that. That wasnt the Point at Hand at all. He Said Queens have weak anti Air. They have Not. They have very good anti Air.
yeah the only one who really can pull that off is hero. while playing macro is still hard many protoss players try to go for a more macro oriented play. at least in eu.
yeah i know. should have phrased that differently:
do you think its a good idea to build ht vs queen at 5 minutes? No its not
you will deal with queens a little bit better but you are far worse vs anything else (roaches/ravagers/lings)
That he actually suggested buffing ht vs queens is the ultimate display that he doesnt understand the problem at all.
Tbh I would have also liked to see if toss can adapt vs queen all-ins after they’ve been forced out of void openings. Not only do I think oracle into blink was largely unexplored but also colossus instead of disruptor, because I’m sure you’ve seen many pro-tosses lose to queen walks from relying on a few disruptors and they missed. Although I believe the colossus could use a partial revert, I can’t help but think that consistent dps splash would work better with their sim city, shield batteries/overcharge, and prism micro vs non-stop tier 1 spam than gambling on some big balls.
Regarding ht, I recall dt’s sometimes being an answer to queen walks but fell out of favour because the zerg would come back 2 min later with double the army and an overseer? in which case ht might be a better transition because of storm, but maybe you’re right and they simply can’t hold the initial push.
Related thought, I think a cleaner, more intuitive change instead of no-transfuse off-creep would be to just remove their energy regen off creep.
They kinda did with disruptor but wasnt very stable and often had to sac the third. Also there are so many different queen walks with different unit compositions. I think its just a very very dumb concept. Luckily the guys who broke the game that way also did a balance patch to fix that. I think its good for both sides that they nerfed the cheese/all in potential of both races. That might be the reason why reynor feels more confident playing pvz than zvz (doesnt matter if hes better in zvz than pvz) because its just less random now and you can actually influence the game by your decisions rather than raw mechanics that actually might fail for a split seconds and then its over.
yeah true. it really was only invented when queen walks were a thing and got also shut down by it. Showtime was always a fan of 3 oracles into macro but the very fast third and zerg style followup wasnt invented by that time.
Yeah. Disruptors are just dumb. For protoss and for the other race. If protoss is distracted and loses the disruptors or if the shots miss they do nothing its just gg but disruptors could blow up the whole army or even can just zone out the enemy army.
I would also like consistent splash dmg. Sentry forcefield got nerfed in that matchup because of ravagers so just spamming forcefield and colossi wont do the trick no more.
Yeah honestly i dont actually know. I dont think ive ever seen a pro protoss to do that. I think its because its just really isnt viable. and even if you survive the first push storm is like Disruptor, its only good for zoning or if the opponent really needs to attack into you. If you can dodge a nova you can dodge storm but storm costs energy and its really bad if its wasted So a zerg would just dodge the storms and attack again later. Its really rather a lategame spell vs zerg as you wont see it really in midgame. Even if templars are built they often just get morphed to archon instantly (showtime vs serral recently for example)
We know for a fact that that works since Alphastar would make a colossus after taking a third, chronoboost it, then cancel it if no allin showed up. It did this at 6300 mmr and took games off of Serral. If you look at the Zerg “agents” of alphastar, literally the only thing they did was hatchery tech ravager/roach/queen allins.
There were options other than void ray stargate openers, and it’s an open question why nobody explored these options. I happen to think that 95-99% of SC2 players play memorized builds on repeat like a robot, without giving any substantial amount of thought to what they are doing. If they do think about what they are doing, it’s to make local optimizations to their execution in specific scenarios and not to their overall grand strategy, let alone inventing a strategy from scratch.
The pareto principle I believe is applicable here. The square root of the people who play the game produce 50% of the builds. So if there are 25 professional Protoss players, there would be 5 of them producing 50% of the builds in the meta. The top 5 Protoss were cranking out stargate builds, so that’s what everyone else did too.
Given there are hundreds of build orders each with thousands of variations, only 5 players fleshing out the possibilities is really low and the evolution of the meta is going to be very, very slow.
A good example of this was when MC made a come back in the GSL. He’d been gone for 3 years. His style of 2 base immortal sentry had died off, ostensibly due to the introduction of the ravager. Except, he came back and slaughtered loads of Zergs using the same exact style he was using years before the ravager was added to the game.
