Terran: Widow mines. I have this necessity to panic micro to extract as much damage as possible against me from every single widow mine hit. Many times it would be better if I just took the hit with the 2 units that would die instead of trying to “minimize” the damage…
Zerg: Hydralisks. Not because I hate facing them, but because I despise them. I despise teching for them, I despise spending a single resource to make even a single one of thse suckers and I despise watching those upgrades get done slowly to make my hydras become even minimally less detestable. Each hydra I make could have gotten me closer to a nice flock of mutas or hive tech or 3 more banelings. I prefer a million times going for ravagers and queen heavy and forgetting these things exist. Huck Fydras.
Protoss: Phoenixes. Not that I can’t deal with them, but the method is not entirely to my taste. Basically, I hunker down, pump out non stop queens and drones, make spores and wait until the drone lifting party stops. I know I’m the protoss’ bi**h for a while if they go double stargate phoenix and while I can outdonre the losses, it is incredibly irritating. But, more imortantly and the main reason I hate phoenixes, is because mutas are my favorite unit and them going phoenix heavy basically makes me go into… Hydras. Seriously, huck fydras and puck fhoenixes for making me make them.
Protoss: DTs. You’d think by masters one would figure these things out…
Terran: Widow Mines I guess? Mine drops are dumb, and mines can swing games out of nowhere when not dropped, and they are amazingly good even when you know they are there. At least they don’t really exist in TvT.
Terran: Cyclone - useless trash - the only terran unit that does not have any significant role other than defending some proxy/all-in garbage. And now with proxy voids nerfed COMPLETELY useless.
Zerg: Viper - hard counters the entire mech. A single zerg unit makes whole terran mech helpless - blind tanks, yoinks thors, libs and laugh in the terran face. Only ghosts can help, but it’s difficult to tech to ghosts while playing mech
Protoss: probe - the only worker that can build multiple structures at a time - is the sole reason why protoss cheese/all-ins are so strong. Not even HTs or Disruptors are this annoying.
It feels a little too strong when you take in acount that as a spellcaster it just owns with:
EMP which can half the toss army’s HP by removing shield,
snipe: bye bye overlords, mutalisks, lurkers,…
nuke ability with cloak when researched
That with the combination that the ghost itself as also a tanky unit.
Zerg: The swarm host
This abomination isn’t a strong unit but most of the playerbase (including me) intensely dislike free units. They should remove this one from the game for that reason alone, or either make them function different.
Protoss: The mothership
A -400/-400 meme-unit with no real use. Invisibility gets really easily countered by overseers, observers, ravens, scans, turrets, spores, cannons,… Timewarp doesn’t do that much on the defensive side and you hardly ever see it. One can argue it can recall an army if it sneaks into an enemy base, which is some more nicheplay that is frustrating to play against.
I kind of agree about both the Mothership and Swarmhost. While I dont necessarily hate them, Its just that I want them to be a big contributing factor in matchups.
