It’s almost embarrassing how little I watch, in regards to streams. At least historically. A part of why I’m actually the guy creating “everything,” probably has something to do with I also don’t watch SC 2, lol.
So, in regards to Neuro, I’ve never seen him “acting badly.” I’ve never even seen someone give him grief outside of one time. Some guy was like making fun of his hair and telling him to get a haircut. Outside of that, his personality is just too “nice guy” to ever really get any grief or probably deserve it.
That said… I gotta be the guy, and there is some white privilege going on. If anything, he’s been getting worse at SC 2, year after year. He does have multiple personalities. I don’t know why you think he’s doing it for views. Who wants to pretend they’re crazy and risk actually becoming crazy? There’s clearly something different about him, in my view.
As someone who wrote a book kinda dealing with improving and, well, everything else, I was just kinda curious as to how he seemed to so easily market it. On one hand, at least in regards to BW, I improved at a rate that isn’t really believable, at least in a time span sense, regardless of highest peak or not… Yet, it’s still one of those things where it’s like I dunno… not really feeling marketing anything.
So, I tuned into his stream one day to just kinda get a better idea of “how he worked” and how it added up, and by the “grace of god,” he was in the midst of talking to himself, unbeknownst to me. He was thanking himself, calling the other personality a different name (he has nine different personalities/names, so he says) for handling the marketing.
I’m looking at chat and it’s as normal as can be. I just assumed he was thanking a friend in chat until he elaborated on what was going on and talked about how he needed different personalities to accomplish things that he, himself, couldn’t “do himself.”
This is the scene we have. I’m not allowed credit for builds or positive sentiments outside of, every now and then, maybe someone says I’m entertaining or humorous. Meanwhile… everyone else is a genius and Neuro is self appointed MENTAL COACH of SC 2.
I just find it fascinating for a few reasons. If he weren’t just a white nerd, he could very well be placed in a mental institution or something, for that alone. Absolutely not going to be a mental coach of anything. But, that aside… being results oriented, you have to ask the question. What are the pros and cons? Is this method of going about things actually benefiting him greatly? Where’s the tradeoff if your perception doesn’t take a hit?
I just find it interesting to ponder that maybe he should be the mental coach. If so, I just think it’s something you should probably be open about. It’s kinda like playing women’s sports, yet not giving away the secret of actually being a man. It’s kinda important, even if it’s 2021 where we act like both genders are the same in every way…
All that aside, I’ve never seen Neuro be anything but mannered towards me and everyone else, for that matter. If we call him a bad guy, gotta call everyone a bad guy, more or less. That said, I don’t watch streams much. I’m sure he’s an interesting guy given the above. I’d be interested in hearing other interesting things he has done…
I always thought there was something different about him the second I heard him talking about the poker book he read and how it changed his life. He 100% took that poker book to heart and like hasn’t gotten mad at anything, visibly, since then. That’s not normal lol. I think people need to remember, whether something resonates with you or not, anyone can write a book. They’re just as fallible as you. They’re not like gods bestowing ancient secrets or something.
I actually don’t agree with his stance on balance. A big part of the reason behind every build I create is my anger with a perceived imbalance or my focus on solving a problem. I’m not spending any time congratulating my opponent for being an amazing human being or anything, you know. At some point, you’re going to appreciate your opponent’s abilities to such a degree that it’s like “golly gee, what could I do… he played perfectly…”
