The strongest Protoss players

Yes, in another comment, not sure if this thread or not, I said that T apm is with no doubt the most legit one, they basically have no real benefit from rapid fire.

Maru also plays Z,not sure the level, but was pretty good.

Everything you listed supports my arguments. Basically you are saying a difference in APM doesn’t prove that there is a difference in APM. HONK HONK

Protoss requires less rapid fire → has less apm because of it → is easier because they don’t have to rapid fire spam abilities like biles.

This isn’t rocket science kid. Your understanding of the game is truly abysmal. APM represents actions that are done in the game. Rapid fire? Creep? Inject? Whatever. It doesn’t matter. These represent actions Protoss by definition don’t have to do because their APM is lower and that makes it easier to play.

Let’s propose a challenge to APEtoss players like yourself. We are going to make blink have a range 1/10th of what it normally does. It will also have 1/10th the cooldown. So basically blink can teleport a stalker just as far, just as fast. But, you are going to have to rapid-fire blink 10x. That’s 10x as many clicks for 1 stalker blink.

According to you, this will make stalker micro EASIER because of “RaPiD FirE ReEeEeEeEeEeEeEeEeE”. Ready to put your money where your mouth is?

APM is meaningless. Beastyqt has a series of bronze to like masters 1 using mouse only with all three races. Winter did a B to GM with <100 APM with full on macro builds with all three races (he played random). Enough with the APM BS. Zerg APM is always higher because of how their rapid fire is setup. Terran as well. This is a strategy game. You need to make the right amount of army, have the right composition and attack/defend at the right time in the right place. Those are the things that matter and are the things that take practice. If you’re not a top 50 gm, APM is meaningless. If you’re not a top 50 GM, balance is a zero percent factor as to why you win or lose. You can call serral and ask him to play with just marines or just lings or just overlords and he’d slaughter everyone on this thread .

Once your APM is above 100, you should be able to dance with masters 1 players assuming you actually understand the game.
I mean wardi knows a GM who just does worker rushes. GM! There are GMs who just cannon rush (not a lot of APM there but still really tight micro is needed) or void ray rush or ling flood. APM just isn’t that important, say in comparison to being able to scout well.

Go watch harstems rank roulette series. You’ll see that between high plat and masters 1 the APMs are basically about the same. But the play is so much crisper in masters 1 because of the wasted clicks and bad decisions making in the lower leagues. That series is actually a fascinating watch. You’d be stunned at what goes on in both higher and lower leagues and sometimes the gap is a mile wide and sometimes it’s not that wide at all.

Like i said if I played 1v1 with serral, I’m sure he could beat me with just overlords and drones.

Once you’re above 100 APM you’re playing fast enough. This is the general rule for all RTS ever made when you’re talking about non professionals.

How many times need repeat this some apm means nothing

How to prove BOTH that APM=skill and that PPP are compulsive liars:

  1. Challenge PPP to use a fraction of their current APM and yet maintain their current rank.
  2. Watch the PPP dodge the challenge while crying that APM doesn’t matter.

Alternatively, nobody cares what you think, which is why nobody is going to “prove” anything to you.

What is there to prove? I’m saying the minimum required APM for all three races is around 100 to be generally competent (we’ll say masters league). Playing faster whilst making the same mistakes isn’t going get you wins. I drive to work most days on 30 mile an hour roads. My commute is 10 minutes. If I double my speed to 60 mph, I may get to work 3 -4 mins faster after you account for other cars and traffic lights and stop signs. But the 3-4 mins saved isn’t that big a deal or isn’t changing anything for me. Driving faster won’t really get me to work that much faster just like increasing your APM from 100 to 300 won’t make you better if your unit comp is trash, you can’t scout, you have no feel for the game , you can’t defend, etc. One of the worst things people do in lower leads is micro one or two units intensely whilst floating thousands of resources. APM above 100 is quickly diminishing returns like many things in life.

Yes the best players play at high APM but that’s doesn’t mean APM is a good measure of how good a player is. Another example is cycling. The best bike cyclists ride 20000 dollar custom bikes. It doesn’t mean you need to go buy a 20000 dollar bike yourself in order to be decent with your local bike riding club because the difference between a 20K bike and a 2K bike is really very very small in terms of objective performance. It doesn’t mean that people who can afford 20K USD bikes are better than people who are riding 2 or 3K bikes. You’d be better off just learning to be a better rider and working on your legs than investing in a better bike.

Oh look, the protoss, who claims APM doesn’t matter, refuses to do a simple APM challenge to prove he is right! Golly, who could have guessed that Protoss avoid an APM challenge like a cow avoids a meat grinder!

Thus it is proven:

  1. PPP know APM=skill.
  2. PPP claim APM != skill.
  3. PPP are bald-faced liars.

Pretty much every regular here knows to avoid you like the plague. You are not even worth talking to. I could get a more productive conversation talking to a wall.

They don’t think it be like it is but it do:
