Terran and Zerg balance and design COMPARISON // TIME TO REDESIGN ZERG

Most of Terran units does counter CERTAIN enemy units (like you make ghosts only to counter ultralisks in TvZ- which are also bad VS ultras because they are getting DENIED by speedlings, it does affect especially bio play when you can’t hide behind tanks).

Most of zerg units are “good in every situation”. You don’t need certain units to counter enemy units. YOU CAN EVEN COUNTER HELIONS WITH ZERGLINGS if you surround them properly.


Most of zerg units are cheap because they are designed to be “cheap and fragile” but it’s partially true. They are cheap but most of them are not fragile. So literally if you want to go something cheap and fragile you can but you can also get something CHEAP AND ALMOST IMMORTAL!

Terran in the unit costs is in the middle between Protoss and zerg.


Terran spellcasters are literally supports which is perfect in balance design - you make them to support your army (raven). [good RTS design]

Zerg spellcasters are imbalanced and unfun to play against units which can counter literally everything especially when they have support from any kind of other zerg unit (old infestors or current vipers). [bad RTS design]


If zerg would be the weakest race in late game I could understand QUICK REMAX ARMY but they are stronger than ALL of the races in the game in late game so why they can remax fastest aswell?

Overall race power in 200/200 late game looks like this:
Terran: average-good (depends on situations, some damage might be critical when played correctly)
Protoss: good
Zerg: INSANELY GOOD, can literally counter everything when has correct unit composition and doesn’t even need to remax quickly if the composition wasn’t good - and they can still win!


Only zerg has “ability” to spawn free units even when they have LEAD in everything. Economy, army strength and gameplay difficulty…

Why it’s like that? Some zerg whinners also told me recently: “if you don’t like the game then don’t play it”. It’s the “only one available RTS” these days and I actually LIKE the game, I JUST HATE THE BALANCE if balance team WOULD DO ANYTHING ABOUT THAT maybe the population size would increase aswell? Because currently when I play I’m just mad because every game (especially in team games, I currently gave up a bit on 1v1 due to bad zerg balance) all I hear is nydus sound and mass swarm hosts going in. It’s extremely unfun.

I played 4v4 for fun recently with 2 zergs in enemy team and all I could hear since 5 min mark was the nydus sound every 10 seconds spaming random units - ok we are doomed, we can’t defend forever because the zerg units with these nyduses will just attack us since the end of the world. We push. We instantly die in a blink of eye. “gg”. Why the **** zerg has just advantage in every stage in the game in literally everything? Harass // strength power // defense power // remax time // spellcasters // units costs // race difficulty?!

The game POPULATION is also decreasing because of that. Nobody want’s to play with these rules and just simply give up after a month or two. Also zergs doesn’t want to play zerg VS zerg all the time and leave aswell (there are alot of threads where zerg people says they meet only Zerg in 1v1).

So what are my suggestions? Nerf or REDESIGN ZERG FROM THE STRATCH (except core and iconic units like zerglings and hydralisks). Make it balanced and fun to play. No more free units and no passive gameplay with late game like “a-move and I win everything because there is no counter”! You won’t shot urself in the knee with that decision because you already did. The WCS is dead because of zerg balance that killed the game. Atleast once since 2010 try to buff different race than zerg and let’s see what happens!

Ever heard of marines?

Most Zerg units don’t have split damage. Banelings and corruptors do. That’s about it off the top of my mind.

A large number of Terran units have split damage.

Almost every protoss unit has split damage.

The argument that the non specialization of Zerg units is an advantage is very fair. However not sure if it matters so much as long as the stats and costs are well balanced.

Marines? xD Are we still in WOL? Yeah, they were OP in WOL when there were no counters to them when enemy could split. Now in LOTV you have literally everything against marines starting from obvious ling and bane or lurkers ending on blinding cloud and ultralisks.

I don’t understand what u say. You mean about SPLASH damage? Corruptors doesn’t have splash and there are more units than banelings in zerg army with splash damage… Not to mention zerg splash damage doesn’t have friendly fire.
