Siege tanks need to cost more

siege tanks should have no place in a rts game. they only exist to let a terran player turtle and make it impossible for him to be attacked in a cost efficient way. a terran losing the game can just go tanks and extend the game (which he is vastly behind) so he can turtle behind a base.
if you attack them you will lose everything very quickly and you won’t achieve much, then he will just amove because you dont have an army
you have to vastly outplay a terran if he’s turtling behind siege tanks, he must make huge mistakes while you play perfectly

i think a solution to siege tank turtling would be increasing their cost, by a lot. not even protoss have such big potential to turtle as terran do. a colossus have the weakness that it can be attacked by antiair units, high templar needs to be microed (while absolutely nothing in the terran army requires micro). a disruptor require careful and precise micro
siege tanks give terran an unfair advantage

Dude you find almost everything to cry about.

Here ill be like you.

Make nydus cost 500 minerals.
Remove ravager.
Remove creep spread.
Nerf corruptor.
Nerf broodlord.
Zergling should have 20 health.
Hydra should only attack ground.
Remove roach.
Queen should not have heal.
remove Infestor fungal.
Overlords should be one shot.

Zerg dont need defensive structures so remove spinecrawler and sporecrawler.

nerf zerg

oh edit: Broodlord should have 50 health.

Guys, let’s make a bet on which will be the next Terran unit Rbt will ask for nerf. My bet is on the Marine.

なに? Siege Tanks are like the most obvious unit to have in an RTS, your post would suggest you don’t know what zone control is or how meaningful it is in strategy.

Yes they do.

That is not their sole purpose for existing. Timing attacks, etc.

This allows the zerg player to obtain bases on the map and gain map control. I think one of the reasons Avilo could never make it to 6k was because his turtle play style actually becomes an issue at top level play.

Absolutely not.

Protoss does fine.

Can you just mass air? Can you use casters?
If a terran turtle with tank planetary turrets just expand the whole map, max out on air and crush it. Protoss have tempest, zerg have broodlord/viper and terran have range liberators that absolutely crush mass tanks.

Don’t cry when a unit counter your favorite units.

Protoss have greater turtle potential than terran in my opinion. They have dual role cannons, shield battery to heal, tempest to anti-siege, forcefield to make cannons immune to zealot/zerglings runby, hallucinations to bait spells and abilities (such as chargelots/lockon/widow mine/siege tank shots), HT to kill light and voidray to kill armored units. It is close to impossible to properly siege a fortified protoss position, unlike the terran defense that can slowly fall apart by some vipers or tempests harassing it.

Tanks are fine’ish (no upgrade for siege is debatable…). Every Terran unit having “13 range,” not so much. Especially when Toss’ range unit isn’t allowed to kill things. You had me at thor whine. You lost me with some of the tank whine, though. Had me in the first half, not going to lie.

Dude. Chill out. Pls.

Even as a filthy mech-hating Zerg, tanks fine. They’re meant to be strong backbone units, if they’re not strong they’re worthless.

gotta agree here, siegetanks need to be that superior in terms of siege damage output, otherwise they were to fragile due to low armor, imagine them having 3 native armor instead …

siegetanks are iconic to SC like the Leman Russ to WH40 or the Mammoth to CnC and yet all 3 of those vehicles have specific roles and strengths and some interesting ingame mechanic like in Westwood titles + and some legacy stuff tradition you could run over infantry with heavy vehicles since Dune2 so can Mammoth, even though that frigging monster can even crush other vehicles which is even topped in the expansion by the M.A.R.V who’s tracks are as big as 1 Mammoth and can roll over them, but hey he is a superweapon

the Leman Russ battle tank on the other side seems to be a very sturdy allround tank which is easily massproduced due to the simple desig features but has great firepower, if all 3 tanks would be in SC2 i would assume sieged tanks will outrange when vision is provided, kinda like tankwars in tvt tanks vs sieged tanks, Mammoths would be spearhead in mech assualt due to the size of that friggin thing and the light GtA ability due to built in rocket launcher (for ballance reason i’d lock tath thing behind fusion core and in there research the railgun attack), Leman Russ would be cheaper tanks that can be stopmed out with reatored factories, but since all those tanks are not Blizzard IP we can’t see such stuff ingame, also stuff like the imperial Basilisk or GDI Juggernaut would break the game so far since they can barrage ground over longer periods of time than a tac-nuke, especially the Juggs but SC2 would be a complete other game if the CnC3 techtree would be in there, all those aircrafts and staticD would be gamebreaking

hm somewhere i lost my tracks :open_mouth:

Guys, are you this dumb? Do you have to take the bait every time?

This guy keeps crying about literally every unit in the game and you still keep replying on his threads. When nobody will give a tiny rat’s a$$ about him, he will stop and his lame threads will die. But nooooo, you gotta power him!

I think the OP is giving a demonstration of how annoying whine can be. Get about 15 more of him and you have an entire cry force. You might even get a balance patch to shut that up. Whinecraft is a good game I guess because people play it non stop.

^ No he is not, him and Overmind have come with the dumbest whine long before terran started whining about Protoss like before 2017. Next whine idea: SCVs too strong and can repair, remove repair

Like zealots and zerglings you mean?

To think that there are 2 other persons agree with the OP, just how much grey matter has been lost in the last decade?

Number 1, Tanks can’t attack air so use your air units.
Number 2, there are far more than enough options to counter tanks, even MULE drop can make Tanks to friendly-fire allied and wreck the entire defense line.
Number 3, what kind of fools dive head first into a turtle Terran Base? You go around capture all the Mineral and mine all the Gas. If you are so stupid that you let them capture all the bases in the map and fortify them with tanks, you are so bad as a player that the reason for your lost is your own idiocy and not the tanks.
Number 4, This ain’t Sim City. You don’t win a game by turtling.
