I’ll put this here, raw data, no balance argument. Take it as you all will. https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/c7s2bv/2019_premier_tournament_winrates_updated/
So according to this PvZ and TvZ are balanced but PvT is imbalanced in Protoss favor.
This is hardly surprising. The difficult part is finding a Protoss nerf that helps Terran but does not change much in PvZ.
Results are a bit surprising in PvZ which I thought were going to be way worse due to the allins from Protoss. I’ve always been on the side Protoss is strong vs Terran but it is slightly higher than I thought it was. TvZ is a swing matchup, one week its Terran in the lead and the next its Zerg. It will be interesting to see what happens next GSL as well.
I think its hilarious to see how many people over there dont trust aligulac or anything with qualifiers included in it. Much higher standards for data than this forum.
Yeah this forum will generally preach what’s needed to stir a crowd. Reddit has it’s fair share of whining, but not as bad as this forum.
PVZ seems worse than PVT at the moment.
TvP winrates of end of 2015,2016,2017 and ZvP be like 60% against protoss and terran is like “Meh it’s balanced keep nerfing protoss anyway” but whenever they have a hard matchup (currently TvP) terrans are like
FaQ YoU BlaAzOrD TvP is UnPlAAyyAbLEeEEE nUUUUUrFFFF pLsssssss I CaNt WiN WithOut BeINg 10X BetTeerrrr REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I sHouLd wIn gSl wItH mYY sKiLLs, I Can FoLloW A BuILd FOR 1mN27 !
When stats look like this, it is really unacceptable. Like, I get it, you are a Protoss and you are going to defend your race to the death, but do you honestly want the game to just be playable for people in GM? This game despite its growing numbers has less viewers and they have even cut streaming qualifier matches from tournaments to save money. This game cannot stay the way it currently is from a design standpoint if this game is going to survive. No one is going to watch a ro8 skewed in favor of one side as GSL S2 and GSL Super Tournament was for very long. Winning is one thing, but watching tons of a single matchup is bad, and it isn’t fun having to watch a single Terran or Zerg play nearly all vP matchups to win either. Protoss can stay strong, but we need to even the numbers.
