Hey again TORMENT.
I guess the problem many posters of threads related to previous War Chest Augments deal with is that the vast majority of forum readers and participants simply do not care about it, and pretty much about any other topic irrelevant to Race Balance.
I do understand that Race Balance is a very important topic here, because it seems to greatly affect how all matches end, both casually and professionally, but, at to which point is that relevant to discuss about (and ranting about, let’s be honest) ceaselessly?
I’m not a long-time user of this forum, nor I have the experience of others in the game, but I think that, by just having a look at the forum’s topics, it is clearly evidenced that things have gotten way too much out of control. I don’t mind much people discussing about Race Balance, but they should always keep it civil, and thoughtfully and politely presenting suggestions, changes, and so on.
I also think many posters, participants, and readers should also allow themselves to have small breaks from it, allowing other types of thoughtful and civil threads to have some attention too. They’d realize there are some pretty interesting topics out there, which present good ideas, and that they’re not related to Race Balance.
I understand Race Balance is important, but shouldn’t other game-related topics also have some attention, so they can have a spotlight and hopefully end in a positive change from the people at the company too?
Also, have in mind not all people are very much concerned about Race Balance, as long as they’re having fun (casual players). These kind of players play the game with friends, family, or even strangers, and they’re just having a good time, and enjoy when new contents are released, since it refreshes the game for some time. Sadly, no new paid contents will be released.
Do not underestimate them in numbers, remember it was left clear there’s a great deal of them when the infamous news of October 15 were released. Just because they don’t participate in the forums, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
Anyway, just my two cents about that aspect.
And yes, War Chests are seasonal contents, and the Augments inside them, so far, are tied to them. However, have in mind that, eventually, Skins made it out for permanent sale, despite they were initially tied to their respective War Chests, and the same happened with some Consoles (Special Forces Console, Simulant Console, Forged Console, Tyrador Console, Cerberus Console, and Ihan-rii Console).
That’s why I think it’d be the logical choice to now release previous War Chest Augments for permanent sale, as it happened with Skins and Consoles, so that many players can finally complete their collections or get the Augments they always wanted.
A few details about what’s been mentioned above: I mentioned that some Consoles were only released for purchase, and that were initially tied to their respective War Chests, but it seems, at some point, Consoles for the Purifiers, Primal, and Mira’s Marauders were added for purchase, despite they weren’t released when the Skins of the factions above were offered for purchase in their respective War Chests. I assume this was done because they don’t have Building Skins, and since the factions which have a related Console have got them, it may explain this, and maybe, I’m not sure, it wasn’t planned from the beginning that the Purifiers, Primal, and Mira’s Marauders were not getting Building Skins, since their Consoles were released separately.
Also, I noticed at the in-game store that some Sprays and Decals which belonged to some War Chests aren’t there, despite there are other Sprays and Decals from other War Chests which are, indeed, there, albeit unavailable.
I’m a little concerned that, if previous War Chest Augments were released for purchased independently and/or in bundles, only those shown at the in-game store are only made available, despite there are others which also were in War Chests, but aren’t shown in-game, as I mentioned before.
The Sprays missing from the Augments tab are those from the BlizzCon 2017 War Chest: Ghost Spray, Rattlesnake Spray, Black Ops Spray, Claws Spray, Overlord Spray, Abathur Spray, Nexus Spray, Corrupted Protoss Spray. Also, GLHF Zerg Spray (from the BlizzCon 2018 War Chest) is missing.
The missing Decals in the game’s Augments tab are those from BlizzCon 2017 War Chest: Ghost Decal, Claws Decal, and Corrupted Protoss Decal.
I strongly suggest the people at the company, if they’re releasing previous War Chest Augments for purchase in the future, please, to not forget about the missing Augments I mentioned. I think all players, at this point, without getting new contents (remember the sad news of October 15), should have access (after having paid, of course) to all previous War Chest Augments, and maybe even those which weren’t part of them, but were given at special ocassions (something possible, having in mind a few of them were later put at the in-game store, albeit not available to purchase them yet), for the reasons I listed back in earlier comments.
I will do my best to add the above information related to Sprays and Decals to the thread, as I consider it be to be extremely important, in mid-January, as my college vacations start since then.
I do understand, TORMENT, that the vast majority isn’t focused very much on previous War Chest Augments, since that doesn’t affect in the slightest the Race Balance topic, and also, because they are very dedicated fans of the game (which I celebrate), and made sure they didn’t miss those contents (again, good for them, but sadly, this couldn’t be the case for many other players).
If in World of WarCraft, previous cosmetics can be obtained individually for purchase, then, it may be also good for StarCraft 2 to receive the same treatment too, and I’d also encourage Augments to be sold in bundles, to save a little money. I already mentioned previous War Chest Augments should be offered separately and in bundles, so there’s more flexibility for us, the players, to purchase what we want, and what we don’t.
I’d suggest not to be extremely optimistic about this thread getting plenty of new Views and Likes in little time. I’m saying so because I constantly monitor the number of both new Views and Likes, and it’s a slow but constant growth. Do not worry, from my part, I’ll do my best to keep it alive, and I hope many of our friends here, as well as our real life friends and family (if they also play the game) will also contribute to it, either by commenting and/or liking it.
Don’t feel down, I understand it is sad to not have the Augments we wanted (and still want), and seeing others with them, despite it’s something good, and I, personally, feel good for them, it doesn’t help with our situation, and that of many other players, but hey, that’s why this thread is for, to try to make it real sometime in the future.
Cheer up! And have a great day everyone.
TL;DR: I believe there are too many Race Balance discussions (and rants as well), and most of them have gone out of control. I also believe other types of threads, those not related to Race Balance specifically, should also get some attention. It was also evidenced after the October 15 news that there are many more people (casual players mostly) that are not interested on Race Balance, and, indeed, they do exist, and care about new contents, despite they don’t participate in the forums.
The company should add missing War Chest Augments to the game, so, if it’s planned to release for purchase previous War Chest Augments, they’re also included, since I’m afraid they may be overlooked for not being displayed in-game.
Finally, those who feel down for not having the Augments they wanted (and still want), I encourage them to just keep participating, or start doing so. Each View and Like will always be of great help.
