That’s absolutely and unequivocally false. The game has never had such low popularity and a race has never dominated GM at anywhere near 45% (the closest was Zerg with 38%). Protoss has shattered the imbalance ceiling and in the process people have quit Zerg and even quit the game in droves.
But that’s not the end of it. If zerg or terran is OP it’s not the end of the world because those races have a heavy emphasis on micro & multitasking. There is a HUGE apm requirement to play zerg/terran. So by that merit alone you can overcome balance. It doesn’t matter if the marine is OP if the terran is looking away when a few banes reset his marine count. So if you have slightly more APM than another player, you can massively outplay him more than balance could ever matter.
Protoss isn’t this way. Protoss have the lowest skill metrics in GM of any race. They have the lowest APM, spending skill, screen movements, etc. Protoss in GM have APM comparable to masters league Zergs. What this means is there is no way to flex a superior APM for better multitasking/micro, because Protoss doesn’t require any of it. Protoss 1000 mmr below you can amove and destroy you and there’s nothing you can do about it. If you try to push a multitasking burden on the Protoss, to try to force mistakes, it doesn’t matter because it’s protoss.
I am glad you can at least admit that Protoss is OP.
