My only thoughts on the upcoming TvT Grandfinals in GSL

1 tank, because that’s basically what it is, makes a big difference in TvT as you’re attempting to take your 3rd. At that time you normally have ~3 tanks on the map and you don’t want to stall any production. Alternatively you can stall upgrades, which would probably be the better option but even that can leave you vulnerable. The idea that TvT’s positional game is easy because no one can hit any proper timings is absurd.

Yeah I would have 3 tanks when saturating my 3rd and making the tower. I didn’t say “when I start my 3rd CC” because yes that would be ridiculous.

Can you quote for me where I said it’s easy because no once can hit proper timings? I can wait.

TvT is the best mirror match up when Maru is in the game. PvP is the worst mirror match up.

If you’re staying on 3 tanks because you stalled tank production you’re very vulnerable to a Terran player poking you with his marine tank raven army. The whole idea that TvT is easy was put forward by you because, supposedly, sensor towers let you react perfectly. However, the sensor towers being built that quickly will hurt your macro somewhat so that you’ll only be on even terms with significantly suboptimal play.

We had 2 years of straight back to back ZvZ which is by far the most luck (not skill) based matchup. Not a big fan of TvT either but one or two TvT finals is absolutely fine compared to what we had before.

Dude, where did I say I cut tank production at 3? And building a sensor tower while saturating your 3rd straight up is not early, that’s a standard timing. You can do that while doing constant tank production, including double viking production and 3 rax (double reactor) marine production while adding on 2 more rax. You have 3 mules and 4 gas at that point. You have more than enough income and usually too much gas by then.

I never said TvT was easy. Literally no where have I said that. There is no easy matchup in SC2. I said it was boring. Those are not mutually exclusive concepts.

Double starport production and a single factory production run without stalling off of ~3 gas. Your 4th gas should come down roughly a depot after your 3rd base has been started. That single gas has to afford stimpack, 1-1, combat shields, 2 reactors, and an armoury. If you try and build a sensor tower with half decent macro something stalls.

Well it’s a good thing then that I’ve said several times I don’t build a tower until I’m already saturating my 3rd not when I’m starting it. Are you illiterate or are you intentionally arguing against things I’m not saying so you can pretend to be right?

Everything applies to when you should be floating the CC to your 3rd base. You should realize I’m aware of the correct timing because apparently I was correct in how many tanks you’d have at the given time. The problem you might be running into is that you don’t naturally have constant unit production and float your CC later than proper, so it feels like you have more money than you should.

Nah, that’s assuming equal skill. Ty is nowhere near Maru’s level in TvT. Ty is ~6.3k mmr on KR while Maru is 6.9k. Ty will be obliterated. Get ready for yet another boring Code S finals.
