Most fun commander of each race?

I know right? I almost never encounter an H&H partner, yet every time I make note of this in co op chats, we get blasted. It’s not like someone told you the commander you love sucks, we simply are stating the obvious, not many play it, like… at all.

I mostly play dehaka so i of course dont get paired with him. I heard hes considered op so i guess hes picked alot as well. But whom i see all the time when i play with randoms. Zeratul. Next match tychus. Then zeratul. Then tychus. Then 2 times zeratul. Havent seen h&h yet because i mostly play premade.

HH is part of my “3rd set trio” (where I picked 3 new COs… one of each race), so I’ll continue using them since they’re “trending” for me. I pretty much let the Twitch Prime deal decide for me, except for Swann since I already had him. In lieu of him, I got HH. Just a heads up though… I enjoy playing as them, but I’m not that good with them :frowning:

Protoss: Fenix - effortless transition to mass carriers
Terran: Tychus - easy to micro/macro
Zerg: Dehaka - over powered call-downs making all builds viable

Main reason: Strong Economy, Easy Tech, Heros, and no Supply issues

First of: wow, people please respect eachothers Opinions. There aint wrong or good opinions. And the fact you don’t like a champion doesn’t mean it’s a flawed design. Incase someone didn’t notice, Zeratul and Tychus are basicly meant for the low APM casual player who wants to hold his own in Brutal…

Anyway:
Protos, Fenix.
Love his AI army + Whatever counters the opposition. And 35% damage reduction makes any ally happy!

Terran, Nova.
Many viable options and many different playstyles (sorry H&H and Alarak).

Zerg:
Close call between Kerrigan and Dehaka, they kinda have the same vibe (rofl stomp with hero and do whatever with your army). Guess ill go for Kerrigan because when i play her i try to actually help my ally with creep bonus from worms and use assimilate when my ally is near.
With Dehake i just kill anything in sight…

Oh?

Ohhhh ok. Now I see why you wrote that. (enter coffee holding overlord emote here)

For Terran: Raynor - there’s something about controlling a high-dps yet fragile army that gives me such a rush, especially when breaking into a heavily-fortified base or running said army into an attack wave.

Protoss: Fenix - I love getting all six champions out into the field early and watch them cleave a swath of destruction throughout the mid game and slowly reinforce them with every unit type. Not all commanders get bonuses for using a good amount of each of their units.

Zerg: Kerrigan for sure, there’s nothing like seeing 3 nydus worms unload an army of ultras and hydras to quickly tear apart an immoblizied enemy force.

Terran: Nova
Fast paced playstyle with lots to do and never boring. High skill potential means always room for improvement.

Zerg: Kerrigan
Omega worms spam fest!!! That satisfaction of “GRUAARGHH!” every fight followed by a swarm of… the Swarm swarming the enemy

Protoss: Artanis/Alarak
Artanis seems like the most chill commander doing whatever he wants wherever he wants. He’s such a nice guy with his invulnerability shield extended to the ally, you’re winning just by existing  Also I like him because now there is a viable High Templar playstyle which is nice when you get tired of A-moving.
And Alarak because Ascendants, duhh! Whoever or whatever the enemy is, Ascendants don’t give a damn. They fart in unison at their general dirextion and destroy half the universe in the process xD

Tychus

Dehaka

Zeratul

I don’t enjoy macro. I have infinitely more fun by staying in combat for the majority of the mission.

Also, this is why I like and play co-op… for the cool commanders with custom forces and unique gameplay design, that breaks away from the more standard RTS / SC2 gameplay, which doesn’t really appeal to me outside of campaign modes for the storyline and unique mission scripting.

Basically, what I’m saying is… I’m a filthy casual, and I like it that way. ^^

Terran: I enjoy playing all the Terran commanders really but I would have to say my two favorites are Raynor and Tychus. Raynor for the constant macro grind to build orbitals and barracks and then being able to mass train rax units and of course I love spidermines ;). Tychus because he feels like your playing a pve MOBA and for the most part all of his outlaws are good.

Zerg: Without a doubt I’m going with Dehaka because it’s so satisfying to level him up and watch him become godzilla, I also have a soft spot for the primal zerg and their dinosaur vibe. Zagara is a close second because being swarming and obliterating an enemy base in mere seconds is extremely satisfying.

Protoss: I like Fenix, Artanis, and Zeratul the most in no particular order. Fenix leading his champions and being able to tech into anything from the get go is interesting. Artanis’ units are really fun to deathball with and his army is able to trade really well with just about any enemy (High Templars are amazing with mastery and rival low stack Ascendants). And of course Zeratul, I think his fantasy is really cool and he’s given a lot of choices (Cannon Projections are extremely fun and satisfying although a bit too strong).

Zerg: Dehaka, like everyone else it seems. I played him nearly exclusively for ages, but I started branching out to improve my play. Dehaka basically carries the player, not just an ally. Strangely enough, I rarely get paired with Dehaka when I’m using other commanders.

Terran: Swann. When I decided to play other commanders to get better, I started with Raynor, and it just wasn’t vibing. His army is fragile AF, I couldn’t keep up with supply, and it didn’t work for me. But then I “found” Swann, and I suddenly started liking micro/macro. The drill, the turrets, the surgical tank strikes, incredible anti-air; playing Swann has made working to be a better player enjoyable.

Protoss: I hate Protoss. I never liked Protoss in SC1, I don’t like them now. The units are so freaking expensive, not only in an absolute sense but also relative to how powerful they are. Protoss is the Apple of StarCraft - twice as expensive for a product that’s only situationally, marginally better. So far, Zeratul is the only commander I’ve found to be tolerable, and that’s probably because he’s Protoss e-z mode.

Terran: Nova/Swann
Nova: nonexistent macro, just push bases with sabotage drone, snipes, call in shield drone, spider mine everything, rapid fire turrets, seeker missiles, liberator zones. Chill and fun commander with good unit/ability variety. Swann is perfect for when I feel like a tryhard microing multiple hercs loaded with siege tanks while building turrets all over the place and macroing at the same time.

Zerg: Abathur/Dehaka
Nonexistent macro, just get your first UE/Dehaka out and start doing the mission. Kerrigan could’ve been on the list but when your immobilization wave is on cooldown against heavy air attack wave I just want to alt f4, whcih I don’t do to make it clear, never do it yourself, don’t disrespect your ally.

Protoss: None, which is a shame.
Army Karax would probably be my favorite if his ramp up time wasn’t so horrible and I’ve already posted a way to fix it by making his unit abilities weaker but already researched and replacing upgrades that used to grant said abilities with upgrades that buff them to their current level instead. That way you can delay Twilight council, Robotics Bay as well as relevant upgrades to save a bunch of gas in the early game when you need it the most and build an actual army. Using his calldowns, shadowcannons to snipe powerful units and rapid firing reclamation on enemy waves is pretty fun when you actually get a chance of doing it in the second half of the mission.

Terran: Mengsk, would say Raynor but he takes the cake, even though his troopers are vulnerable, he has sooooo many ways of making comps and dealing with attack waves that it is hard to get bored of him, once you bipass his difficult macro.

Zerg: Stetmann, other zerg commanders are fine, but stetmann got so much potential with Super Gary and stetlites that I can’t ignore how rewarding they are.

Protoss: Artanis, used to be my main until I started playing most commanders overall, his army is fairly weak compared to most commanders but his shield overcharge and guardian shell makes so that even Zagara, Raynor and Mengsk wins the map using pretty much only mineral units.

Terran: Mengsk or HH. Mengsk blitz and assault drops, HH burn with fire and speed boost with BC, strike fighter, landed Vikings, and the new hellbats/hellions
Protoss: Zeratul maybe. It’s a pleasure when things come together
Zerg: Dehaka
