GSL LIVE! Stats vs TY!

OH MY GOD, THOSE DISRUPTOR SNIPES AND THE EMPS ON THEM!

That was insane!

this looks like its over and done.

Blink DTs are the MVP of lategame TvP. What a baller of a series.

I only hope that the ZvP finals will match up to it.

The ZvP finals only means zerg will win.

Stats’s DT use in that final game was really impressive. He kept his main army on Ty’s side of the map the entire game, despite being down 25-30 army supply, while constantly harassing with groups of 1-2 DTs at multiple locations and force TY to respond, TY never had a chance to get lib range and start massing them. It was pretty much the same story in the previous macro games.

I think if TY had realized his army advantage and made a couple of ravens, he might have been able to push across and win the game; instead, the one time he tried to push across with a chunk of his army, he had no detection, and something like 8-10 DTs jumped on the army.

It’s interesting how the meta has shifted to Protoss being the aggressor with highly mobile armies and DT harass in the early part of the late game after all of the changes earlier in the year.

It’s not just about making ravens, though they would have been beneficial - DTs sniping SCVs, sniping bases etc… with Shadow Stride, they become a nigh unstoppable force. It was amazing to watch but I do have to wonder how you counter that as Terran because seeing them isn’t the problem, it’s preventing them from getting in. That’s a huge part of why people were against it when it was added initially. It’s such a powerful upgrade, especially on a cloaked unit.

The question now becomes, what does Terran do to adapt in order to deal with it?

Still, the series was thrilling to watch. Two titans clashing - over and over again. This was easily one of the best series all year.

late game tvp has always favored toss, since 2010.

bio with support ghost viking lib can try, but no part of that army deals with disruptor. not to mention requires significantly more precise control from the terran. much less forgiving for terran in the late game. dont blame TY for his sharp early game builds

Inb4 the thread gets derailed into balance discussion in 3,2,1…

Honestly – balance aside – having a ZvP final will bring a breath of fresh air unto GSL, after the TvT snoozefest of last season.

TvT is the most interesting mirror MU. I think a TvT is more interesting than a ZvP, but that’s my opinion.

Stats is a beast.
Finally overcomes his problems with facing TY and gets a grandfinals out of it.

I did not see you complaining about two years straight of ZvZ back to back from top to bottom on tourbament brackets.

Perhaps because Zerg players are gifted human beings for you and they deserve it, but God forbid Terran having a single tournament overperforming, right?

ZvP finals = Zerg free win anyway.

I don’t think you understand where Velitey is coming from. If it was up to him all tournaments would be ZvZ’s from ro8 and onward. He’s compaining about the TvT’s of last season because he doesn’t like the matchup (or Terrans in general) and not because he doesn’t like mirror matchups.

While pVz being a bit Z favoured I don’t think the matchup is a free win for Z, Stats is not a bad player, he can fight, and Aligulac shows an even matchup with a few advantage points to Stats.

7.26% 4-0 0-4 5.35%
  13.96% 4-1 1-4 11.11%
  16.79% 4-2 2-4 14.42%
  16.15% 4-3 3-4 14.96%

      54.16% 45.84%

Yeah it isn’t a free win. But Rogue is going to abuse the **** out of every cheap strategy he can find. Nydus/SH, Roach/ravager bust, mass banelings. I think we see Nydus/SH at least twice.

I think Stats puts up a fight, especially if he executes some good Adept micro. But ultimately I think it’s a 4-2 win for Rogue.

I suspect you’re correct. Rogue has an incredibly diverse strategy set, and he hasn’t lost a Bo7 offline yet.

But… there’s a first time for everything, and frankly, I think it would be nice to see Stats pull out the win.

Rogue probably has the advantage, but as long as the series is good I’m fine with it.

Stats is looking very solid playing from behind though (he showed that multiples times today), so I have hopes still.

Stats is going to beat rogue like a drum.

PvZ is protoss favored and there’s no lategame for rogue to fall back on now that Zerg has no lategame

Remember you said that. Rogue will steam roll.

If it were 2019 I would agree with you.
