The matchup is fine currently. Balanced on a knifes edge where one wrong move from either side spells disaster and tips the scales, but still balanced.
Edit: On another note, I have to say I wasn’t really impressed by any of the games in group D. sOs looked really, really bad in all of his matches, and watching him literally throw his only anti air into the meat grinder with no support in game 2 was just a really, really weird decision, but it was one made in a game that had gone horrendously in the first place.
Dear didnt look any better, but PvZ is rough for a lot of toss right now. Seems they arent sure what to do against Zerg. Dear in particular looked like he was doomed from the word go; a big part of that due to the Glaive build he kept using.
DRG was okay, but honestly we didnt get to see that much from him. His ZvP was strong but the games were just… bad. How much of that is because of the matchup itself, and how much of that was because of Dear flubbing the games, I don’t know. It certainly felt like neither player put any real effort in, and it wasn’t even close. His ZvT certainly didn’t impress at all. It was easily the worst ZvT series we have had in GSL this season.
Dream pulled the boys both games he had vs sOs, one was forced and the other was clearly planned. Having said that, he held what sOs thre at him remarkably well.
His games vs DRG werent particularly impressive either.
Honestly this whole group was a massive disappointment, and I dont see DRG or Dream making it out of the Ro16 without some huge steps up in their gameplay.

creep and queens have both been nerfed before in LotV.
PvZ isn’t rough at all. Protoss is currently slightly favoured vs Zerg according to aligulac.
and yet they keep getting wrecked by zerg in tournaments.
statistics don’t lie and are unbiased. Try being unbiased for once…

that’s a really small sample size… Aligulac has thousands of game. Way more reliable imo.
you balance the game around the top. the top of SC2 is the premier level tournaments with the big name players. just because Aligulac includes data that has people who can’t hold a candle to the likes of Stats, Serral, and Maru doesn’t mean its more reliable.
sorry, you want the game balanced around scrubs, you go ahead.
so what you’re saying is Terran is underpowered at our level and you know it?
SC2 has always been balanced around the top, because those are the ones who balance affects the most.

No, according to aligulac Zerg is favoured. Protoss has ~47% win rate vs Zerg. That isn’t toss favoured.

So literally as even as you can possibly get, not favoured, While almost every period before is sub 48%

Tbh I am increasingly warming up to this position. At first I thought it was terran favoured because of the emp buff and the fact that it can take half the health off a protoss army. Then I thought it was protoss favoured because of how strong 4 gate blink was turning out to be. Now I think that protoss could use some buffs, but not necessarily targetting this matchup.

Watching pro level over the last year, I think it’s pretty clear protoss needs something. Maybe FFs need to survive 1 bile, or colossi need a redesign to either be a bit less trash vs roaches and marauders or just fill their role more cheaply, but something has to give.
Protoss just… hasn’t performed well at pro level, overall, for a while. PvZ is especially bad, but PvT lategame with super EMP ghost is still not a great place to wind up against an opponent with good control.

I’m definitely open to helping Protoss defend against Roaches, however forcefields is the one thing I personally wouldn’t budge on. I don’t want soul trains to come back.
What about bringing back hardened shields? Would that affect PvZ positively?
I think hardened shields invalidated tanks too much, so I doubt that’s an option.
