Even if ally needs help with defence and Galleons are not enough its better to make Hellbats, at least they will be useful when day comes.
False. Void Shards are heroic (so 1750 damage instead of 4000) and Burn damage do not stack (if you launch 10 in the same time it will still be 100 damage, not 1000).
The wiki doesn’t show that they are Heroic… So I’m wrong on that front. However, they are still very good against the Extraction devices and Suppression Towers, on top of being decent ground wave clear.
Well, yes, but only objectives where Strike Fighters would be truly useful, because reaching these objectives with army could be complicated (Void Shards and Virophage) are heroic. And while Terrazine Extractors, Zenith Monolith and Suppression Towers are non heroic it doesn’t matter much because all these are easily reachable by army which you still need to have (maybe for first Terrazine Extractor your army is not strong enough, but the same goes for Strike Fighters - you won’t have them in large numbers at that timing too).
I go for 10 strike fighters every game, they are better than people give them credit for.
I usually build them when against ground comps, not necessarily all 10, but 5-6 at least give you great map presence and with napalm you can clear most of an attack wave.
They are also great for those mutations where you need to keep your distance in some way.
They’re bloody fun and unique if nothing else.
It’s a cheap and easy way to get vision for Call in the Fleet, or Space Station. Plus, you may not want to commit troops to dangerous areas. It can be nice for allies with the same situation (e.g. Odin, Pulse Cannons, Solar Bombardment, Purifier Beam).
Strike Fighters are great for supporting a landed Shredder Cannon Viking + Hellion comp.
Ez enemy ground, and you get accelerated cannons blasting away
1 strike fighter to give vision anywhere on map for calldowns. Other than that they useful if enemy is pure ground or on DON.
Besides that meh, I’d rather have an army mopping up the map then waiting for CD on strike fighters that leave air intact
