Can someone please explain Kerrigan lore and her redemption to me?

Yeah, Mengsk was cool. And did you know that Kerrigan as a Cofederate Ghost did assassinate Angus Mengsk, Arcturus’ Father?

Funny thing, during HotS i knew that fact. And Kerrigan having ‘revenge’ was just silly to me. Who would know that Arcturus’ revenge on Kerrigan in SC1 will backfire in that proportion thought

I knew that, which only accentuates how poorly Kerrigan was written, for SC2.

She was my favourite character from SC1, with Phoenix as a close second. They both got shafted hard.

Yea, we know the plot.

There was no such thing.
Mengsk had bigger fish to fry than Kerrigan (a dog on the leash of Confederancy). Mass-Nuking an entire planet is quite another beast compaerd with assassinating some people (Mengsk’s parents).
Mengsk knew that (that Kerrigan was simply following orders) and chose to use his “vengence” precisely where the orders for both killing his parents and incinerating an entire Planet (Korhal) came-from.
He’s was at the same time vengence and poetic justice (positioning Psi-emitters to slaugher his enemies with Zerg’s Claws).
Kerrigan was just collateral-damage.

Yeah, and they replaced the patriarchy with…another patriarchy. What, you aren’t going to mention how Valerian Mengsk succeeded his father and became the new Emperor? So apparently the patriarchy didn’t actually fail, did it?

I also didn’t mention how Matt Horner became Admiral and took over Raynor’s Raiders. So how does this men staying in power and also achieving promotions work in your “feminist vs patriarchy” agenda?

What about Artanis? Or Alarak? Funny how they preserved their positions of authority. So what were you talking about patriarchy or “patriarchy’s fault”? It’s so easy to impose your own anti-feminist or anti-woke agenda by being super selective, isn’t it?

So you are going to conveniently forget about how Artanis persuaded Rohana the Preserver of her error and changed her world views when she formerly insisted on rigidly sticking to the old ways of the Khala? No, because a single female character Kerrigan ascended, let’s forget about all the other female characters and pretend that “women can do no wrong.” Despite the fact that we have a female conservative Protoss who was being shown the errors of her way by Artanis (which sort of destroys your whole anti-patriarchy argument).

You could swap Mengsk’s gender and it wouldn’t have made a difference. Imagine if Mengsk was Arcturia Mengsk, a tyrannical Matriarch and the Empress of the Dominion. She still would have been the villain and slain. Your whole “feminist” and gender argument only works if they actually had gender make any difference. I.e. Arcturus was abusing Kerrigan and other women, Kerrigan and other women were being passed over for promotion because of their gender, etc. If Arcturus Mengsk sacrificed Sarah Kerrigan in Brood War because she’s a woman and he considers women “expendable.” But you had none of that happen. The reason why they turned Kerrigan into a Mary Sue goddess was simply because she had become a fan favorite character after the events of Brood War and they couldn’t bear to kill her off. Not because she was a woman. You could have Samuel Kerrigan becoming the King of Blades and it wouldn’t have made a difference.

You know what is woke and feminist? The stupid Captain Marvel movie, where they blatantly show how Carol Danvers is being abused, passed over for promotion and oppressed simply because she’s a woman, and then she turns into this godlike being to prove all the men wrong and slap the patriarchs in the face. That’s woke. Starcraft 2 is not.

Dude…you’re just grabbing at straws now.

Arcturus new that Kerrigan killed his father. At first he planned to kill her right away, but decided otherwise, because he found Kerrigan with freshly wiped memory.

All this time she knew what she did to Mengsk, she just was blind in her believes that Mengsk ‘forgiven her’.

Arcturus left her to die on Tarsonis for just that. Nothing else.
It is kinda ironic, because Kerrigan was one of the first Ghosts used by Confederacy to experiment on Zerg’s psyonic links, and then have been taken by them.
