Except he abused combination of proxy rax builds, but to be honest he had to because zerg was and is broken and he was very good player…
He won 2 gsls and wca, thats not really a patch terran.
Also not to mention byun streamed all his practise and still managed to win 3 premiers.
If we are gonna talk about past Terran. My two favorites were bomber and MVP.
MVP destroyed everybody during WoL. Closest thing to a bonjwa sc2 had imo.
ya mvp is my favorite player of all time. biggest variety of builds. loved him for it.
Because Maru is one of those crazy players that is still competitive when Terran is weak. Watching him break ro.4 in GSL during the blink era, when the only other Terran made it to the ro.16 was insane.
Also probably something to do with his dimples.
I know, right? There is so much more to appreciate about terran than proxying. I remember watching bomber make 2 hellions then run them past the same overlord 4 times, making his opponent think he is going to hellbat allin when he actually took a fast third, and then rammed a crazy number of units down his opponent’s throat.
Another one was when SelecT killed 7 zealots with 3 marines.
Or how Taeja carved a victory out of Life even after losing his main base to mutas.
Terran pros have become lazy and think they should win by making 3rax on the wrong side of the map, and the playerbase has forgotten what impressive terran play actually looked like. Killing your opponent at the 1 base mark (or securing a game winning advantage) from making some buildings near your opponents natural is the opposite of impressive.
Still better than ZvZ-craft.
If you dislike zvzcraft, then remove the region lock.
The core of the issue is that terrans are UP. Zerg is OP.
Bandaid fixes won’t solve the problem.
This is why you fear the region lock being removed. If it were removed, you’d suddenly be unable to claim terran is underpowered as Korean terrans dominate everything in sight.
You’re the one grasping at straws. You are afraid that zerg is going to get nerfed to the ground unless something drastic is done, and the only thing that can possibly help your case is to release regionlock so that maybe there are 2 terrans in the next Blizzcon in the round of 8 instead of 1.
While you ignore the root of the problem, which is that terran is UP right now.
Am I?
Zerg is getting buffed. Read the patch notes.
Posting on an anonymous internet forum is … drastic?
Remove the region lock and it will be nothing but terrans at blizzcon.
Yes.
No more infested terrans? Taking away free units is one of the biggest nerfs to an RTS possible.
I think you subtly hope Blizzcon moderators read your posts from time to time in the slim hopes you actually make a difference in their opinion.
That’s why there were so many terrans from the Korea region at Blizzcon right?
Oh no, I can’t spam free infested terrans. I’ll just have to spam free hydras, ultras, infestors.
If I wanted to impact SC2 design I could easily get a job there. I would be hugely overqualified. I have been the lead software developer on 2 RTS game projects plus am a high ranked grandmaster with all three races, and that’s just my qualifications directly relevant to SC2. I could never work there, however, since the entire company is soy incarnate.
There aren’t enough opportunities for all of them to advance. The region lock makes sure of that.
All you have left are Broodlings and locusts for free units. Still not bad at all, but at least we are on the right track.
Do it then, whats stopping you? If you have time to whine about it, surely you have time to give them your unopposed wisdom.
Still, you might increase the amount of terrans minimally. Hardly make a difference since its a bandaid fix to both the real issue of terran being UP and even to your agenda.
Nope, the new infestor ability literally manufactures free ground units of any kind directly in combat.
The BBB has bigger fish to fry than to show the soybeans at blizzard how to math.
Lmao. No. They would increase dramatically. There are loads of terrans in Korea who are on par with Serral and/or leagues above the foreign terrans. If Special can make it to Blizzcon, we’d have about 20 korean terrans at blizzcon if the region lock were removed.
Ya that brood lord buff and nydus buff all sound great lmfao. Genius!
If by 20 Terrans you mean TY, Gumiho and nobody else. Innovation couldn’t even crack the Korean top 16 this year.
All the B teir Terrans are situated right together at 21-25 and special is right there in the middle of them. You are vastly overestimating the Korean talent pool.
The nydus only works when the terran or protoss is completely out of position, otherwise they can simply right-click on it and it dies. How is the new nydus going to change this in any way? If a player is already that far out of position, the nydus will kill them regardless.
The range on the BL is being reduced because it isn’t going to be zerg’s zone-control tool anymore. The lurker has been buffed to fill that role and it is definitely a huge buff compared to having to use BLs to accomplish the same thing.
Byun is a patch Terran?
You better go get a brain, cause clearly you don’t have one.
Where is other Terran players if Byun is a patch Terran? This year we get a clear idea what patch Zerg meant, compare to 2016 only Terran made to Blizzcon semifinals is Byun. Why can’t other Terran player micro like Byun and make to semifinals?
