Bug/Feedback Main Base Priority Order Malfunction

Hi,

this is not an easy topic.

Summary of problem/bug:
Putting your main bases to a group-hotkey (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0) will put them in a certain order. This order is depending on their position. The order has no logical order. The order is NEW each session (new game).

introductoin: For the Warp Back Mechanic (Protoss) a wants to warp back his units to a certain Nexus. Because we have a limited amount of hotkeys… all nexuses are at one group, and a player for instance wants to Warp Back his units to Nexus three (Nexus at your third)… The intuitive way to do that is select the third nexus in your group - now while there are other reasons why this might be the fourth instead (internal order), this is however completely f***ed up: See Summary.

Let me present you a small screenshot

Description: as you can figure, the order of ALL bases is the same. However if you have only a few of the selected bases, the order might seem to swap - or rather said, another bases will be put inbetween (or even infront). For instance, the green numbers indicate the apparent intuitive order of bases, however stuff gets complicated once you get more bases, see black (4 bases) and red (8 bases).

More details:
HOWEVER this changes EACH NEW GAME.
So players can’t even begin to remember this priority order… there is no logic sense in the order, at least for later bases… (I did quite some tests).

Recreation of the problem / do it yourself
< should be quite self explanatory >

  • to prove the new session, you would have to do this several times
  • to prove the weird order, create an offline game of any blizzard map. (here rhoskallian) use the cheats SpectralTiger and Catfoodforprawnguns to quickly execute it: Send workers to build bases on the map.
  • group them, then click on the 1st and center, and notice its position, repeat for the 2nd and so on.
  • you will notice the order, and you can now notice the difference each session, and of course the missing structure or reasoning of the order, see explanations above.

Solution
Let the priorities in the same order for each session.
Give a strict order of priorities for bases - well this is not fair to anyine, since some people do their bases in different spots - … but at least a logical one, would be the main ,the natural to be priority 1 and 2. the third and fourth priority 3 or 4… and then it could go on with 5,6,7,8, and so on.
At the moment however some later bases come before your main and natural bases, even…!
