say i was versing cars meaning the protoss airship with mass battle crusers and i wanted tto yamato a few cars .whats the best move sequence for fighting them. lets say i knew where the cars were and im going up to them please give me best sequence because at the moment my battle crussers dont fire the yamato and they only auto attack and die quick
My only serious recommendation is to set up your hotkeys to have rapid fire so that you can just hold a key and flick the mouse over the Carriers. Guides are spread on tl.net, reddit, and sc2swarm and remain top of search results.
This is because there isn’t really a big trick to it, beyond remembering you want to shoot two Yamatos at each carrier (240 damage vs 450 vitals). Shift-clicking isn’t good because you want the Carriers to be firing the Yamato volley first and it has higher range than their attack.
but when u are all ready auto attacking from an A move in yamato wont activate
and i do have hot key set up aand i know shift command and hotkeys i couldnt find exacly what i was after from the web and besides that i ask here.
like lets say im auto attacking do i have to move them back first with what action is that do just click an empty space or hold move stop or something then shift heaps of yamatos i was seeing what people do
i just want to know becuase i want to improve my game
wait theres a hot key called rabbid fire?
and im using cars az an example
and i know it works better from a distance i guess its when i achily attack command in before using yamato becuase auto attack over powers the shift clicking yamato and it wont yamato and if i move back wont battles crussers auto attack still be on do i have to retreat heaps or tele i dont really get it
yamato dosent work like a void ray ability i under stand why that is is just seems awkward to use
if your shift clicking after already attacking your just adding an additional command sequence to the previous amove attack. you need to move command breifly first to stop attacking then rapid fire the yamatos with out shift clicking, as the bcs will yamato a single target till its dead first then continue to the next target, ie overkilling one unit with multiple yamatos and wasting the shots.
Also no, there is not a hotkey called rapid fire. When people say you need to set up a hotkey that means going into your hotkeys set up and going to the bc page and setting keybinding yamoto to a specific key that you can rapid click with ease rather than the default.
i thought bc attck well well moving so the move comand still autos but i am able use yamato i see and thanks for explaining rapid fire to
if your already attacking ( with any unit not just bc) and you shift command something, your just adding additional command to the already attacking units. you have to stop attacking first then shift command what your doing. other wise the units will keep attacking till they finish then the next shift command comes into sequence after. Like say if you amove to a specific point, then try to shift command something in, they will continue to attack till they reach the point you clicked and if any units or building are in that path they will auto attack everything till that point is reached then shift command after that will kick in. When you shift command something, shift acts a + button, giving additonal commands to what you already commanded the army to do.
wknight2 i pratice rabit fire on bots i know how to do it now thank you 2 people thats what i was after i herd the term before but thought it meant something else now that i pratice what you said it was amazing help thank very much i least know now what my bc issues wwith yamato it is defently resolved =]
your welcome glad to be of assistance. If you play zerg at all and want to learn zerg you can catch my streams on twitch ( Twitch ) Fair warning tho i dont use the keyboard like most people you would see streaming, i kinda handicapped my self learning my way of playing over 25 years now and cant learn the keyboard command style for the life of me now i that ive seen how everyone else plays.
Bro I used to have a keyboard with 2 strafe keys above the left and right arrow keys, I wonder if that would help…
i have the hotkeys i use attached to the numer keys. Its just my brain isnt the greatest at remembering things like which keys do what especially in intense situation. Half the time i keybind something for a specific unit i forget i ever did and just try to stay away from them units. I will rarely use ravagers and spellcasters cause of this. I try to stick to units that are microable more than needing to spam spell cast. Like to be honest your talking to a 40 yo single dad trying work, take care of the home, and raise three kids alone. At the end of the day my brain is fried and im lucky i have the patience to even play this game, but it lets me vent steam i built up all day and gives me an excape from my reality. Also im a toker so my brain is double fried.
i play as terran 98% of the time i saw stream name im not loged into twitch but i lurch there might have a look some time =]
my hot key set up i have marine{q}reap{W} murader{E} same with factory hellen{q}widow {w} like q,w,e,r,t,y for every buiding and like comand center {q} suply depot {w} and so on if they comflick i give spacial key i sacrifice seprete army groups for macro thats what i do
You can use side mouse keys for extra control groups. I’ve got 4.
that a good idea i have a razor mouse to never use them for gaming
