Thors are outclassed by tanks and goliaths in AG and AA roles respectively. The only situation I use them in is, just as has been written here - against swarmy zerg with support from hellbats. The reason is enemy vipers who can disable all tanks with one cloud (unless you can distribute them over wide area). Hellbats+thors comp is much more durable, which is needed more than firepower against such enemy. For all other cases, tanks+goliaths are better.
For those of us, like me, that absolute hate flying siege tanks and won’t use it with hercules, go thors. I refuse to abuse a dumb mechanic that I’ve thoroughly hated since they forced it into ladder in 2015.
Flying seige tanks represents the most autistic period in SC2 history. And so, even though Swann was one of my mains, I will never abuse the flying siege tank.
It’s not skill for those that watch the dumb youtube videos about it. It’s more moba than it is rts. I did like the hercules in wol campaign, I really should use those more, especially since I understand they have the BC jump now.

This guy is exactly the kind who isn’t good at ladder or coop but like to give advice on everything, as if he is good. Stop giving bad advice to people.
No such thing as “flying siege tank” for a very very very long time in ladder. And only flying siege tank in coop is with Mengsk and not Swann, and it requires research. The rest is just a simple load/unload… literally how a transport ship works.
It just shows how little he knows about everything yet persistently want to insert his opinion. Dunning-Kruger at its finest.
I’m sure in your view everything seems “douche-y”. Or you can simply become a better person by:
- Not post clearly and obviously wrong information to mislead readers.
- Not get so offended at everything just because they disagree.
- It’s not about you 100000% of the time. When you post bad information, people call you out, other readers can see why. Understand the difference between “against your opinion” versus “against you as a person”. Hence why a real ‘douche’ would call someone else exactly that.
Then again, I don’t expect you to just ‘get better’ from this post. Perhaps one day, you’ll realize that people are not so much against you, as they are against what you’re doing. Grow up.
