This is MASSIVE buff. Remember when Marauder attack was made 1 instead of 2? Oh, the Zerg tears. Yeah, now already strong IT got the same treatment.

There’s no point in trying to debate with some of these ignoramuses. They’re incapable of understanding the fact that it will be significantly easier to clear out IT cocoons thus making the stat changes more or less unimportant. ITs only get to do damage if they emerge and have an army to shoot at, which won’t happen any more.

Stats are not meant to be directly doubled when you increase the cost of a unit.

If they were, then larger units would always be better than the equivalent number of smaller units because the smaller units die off at a significantly faster rate and those deaths cause DPS loss.

In practice, you have to adjust the net stats of the larger unit (health, DPS, or factor of health * DPS) by a certain factor to make them even.
When the larger unit is explicitly double the cost of the smaller units, that factor is 3/4.

The new Infested Terran has roughly double the DPS of the old one, and 3/4 of the health of 2 smaller units (100 * 3/4 = 75), which means it has roughly the same net strength.

Lol, get ready to have to explain this 100 more times before the patch goes live.

but the point is 2in1 ITs now taking smaller unit space(easier to force fire), and single IT health from 50 to 75 is more likely to survive from aoe dmg (which the balance team claimed more easier for counter play but harder in fact). and as you said, 2in1 is only calculate armor reduction once.
so generally, they are still buffing the infestor.
