Yep, that’s what I’d do too (my conservative option, anyway). It’s insane how important Omega Worms are though, and I can’t really understand people being happy with Malevolent Matriarch at the moment. Non-mutation Miner Evacuation is the only situation I enjoy it… even on maps like Oblivion Express I could get more use from Omegas.
My less conservative options for improving it would be ideas like:
- Regeneration on her combat units can overheal them up to a flat HP figure (say +50), which decays off-creep. Essentially a measure to boost Zerglings and Hydralisk survivability specifically, OR
- Play with the hero abilities a bit, looking at giving her some kind of Wild Mutation and/or Apocalypse. At the very least Apocalypse would be different, it probably wouldn’t be optimal vs Immobilisation Wave but it’d let solo Kerrigan split from her army to deal with waves alone, which is more important without Omegas. Wild Mutation would be another way for that “hey maybe I could use Zerg basic units and not melt without Omegas” fantasy, but you’d need to look at what madness it’d do to Mutalisks if it wasn’t ground only…
I still repeat the received wisdom that P2 is stronger, but I have to admit, more and more mutations are mounting up where I’d rather use P3.
