I wonder why even play overwatch if you are going to mute chat or ignore everyone’s calls? It is a team game! It is so frustrating having to sit around for 10 minutes in a match while the genji genius won’t change or the rein keeps suiciding or the orisa is flanking or whatever. I mean, why even play a team game if you just want to do your thing?

Tbf in what other game can you play as someone like Genji or Rein? That’s not to say it’s fine that people ignore teamwork, but they understandably have no other game to play if they like those heroes.
I guess they can play Deathmatch but that mode takes a certain level of BS tolerance to play.

Don’t wanna listen to someone in plat trying to bark orders like they think they know what they’re doing. Much easier to focus when I don’t have to hear people screaming a hero’s name like a bunch of monkeys finding a banana.
I can look out for myself and carry my own weight, anything else is not my issue.

Yup, a teammate who can get 2-3 picks a teamfight and knows what they’re doing. Uncommon in the average elo I know.

Game was designed for you to work with your team, but not to have to listen to people’s dumb decisions.
One can play around their team without having to listen to their voice. Literally common sense and observing how both sides play is enough.
Me hearing a rein with the IQ of a coconut saying “I’m going in” as he charges in alone won’t stop him from dying.

If the team are actively making bad decisions in calls definitely, if someone tells you to jump off a cliff does it make it a good decision because it’s teamwork?

Most of the time yes, it was platinum, not mid-high diamond+
In plat you don’t need to listen to the comms to know what to do, it’s literally just following what you see.
The lower the elo, the more dumb decisions are made in comms. Coming from someone who has climbed from the lowest rank to diamond.

I don’t care about my rank, i’m a casual player. All i want is to have a good time and not sit around while people play whatever they want and don’t coordinate in a team game

Co-ordination doesn’t matter when the co-ordinated decisions are stupid. If everyone rushes the bunker comp face forward instead of taking a proper path it doesn’t save the 6 deaths.

No, its my experience from bronze to diamond.
90% of all comms were bad.
It’s not entitlement if it happens insanely frequently.
Bronze to Plat, the vast majority of players do not have a good enough concept of what they’re doing to shot call routes.
Diamond and up people start knowing not to rush the bastion face forward without a plan.
