Title pretty much says it all, it’s my new motto when tanks and dps players don’t help supports by peeling, If they don’t peel they can find health packs the entire game.
Oh enjoy those reports and the ban that is inevitably coming. See you soon in the “I was wrongfully banned” post.
Without 2 tanks, we can’t afford to peel unless we’re on D.Va (and even if she does it she’s conceding space).
Reminds me of all the Ana players I see who don’t swap off when they get dove by a Winston all game long and just get farmed. Who proceed to point fingers and complain about lack of peels.
If I’m on DPS and I have an Ana getting farmed by dive, I’ll usually just play Torb or Junk and play with the Ana the whole time.
If I’m the Ana, I’ll swap off. You can peel yourself out of there if you swap to Lucio, Moira or Kiri.
Always need to think of ways for you to adapt to your environment, not your teammates adapting to you. Can’t control that.
Effective communication with your team is essential. Tanks need to maintain their position on the front line, so they can’t always come to you for healing. In the current meta, you might be struggling with heroes like Winston or Roadhog. Consider learning Brigitte, Lucio, and Ana, as they offer escape abilities and crowd control. Additionally, you can queue with a duo partner who can watch your back. If these strategies don’t work, keep playing until you reach a rank where this issue is less prevalent.
If you choose not to heal, you’ll accumulate sabotage reports, which are detrimental in the long run. Avoiding teammates isn’t fun either, as it means good teams won’t want to play with you. This could result in being placed with toxic players who are also avoided. So, be mindful of your actions and strive for effective teamwork.
Every dps player when…
- dps isn’t getting heals - “plz report the support for throwing”
- support isn’t getting peels - “plz shutup n go Kiriko or Moira”
I mean, non-maliciously, that is what ends up happening in my lobbies sometimes.
I get flanked and I keep dying, then my DPS get mad that I’m not healing.
Like, I cannot heal if I am dying. And I cannot fend off a Tracer and a Genji by myself lol
My intent is to support my team and heal them; I cannot do that when I’m dead. And I cannot stop death alone without peels. :>
Have you looked at your own gameplay before coming to that conclusion?
Maybe its you.
This is like… most of the Supp roster. Supports don’t have much they can do about dive tanks.
Surviving is one of the easiest thing to do as support in OW2. It has become easier than ever thanks to passive self-healing and global HP buff. S1 OW2 and the entire existence of OW1 in general was much harder to survive than it is now. That is, you actually swap as needed when you’re noticing you’re dying more often due to your hero pick…
If anything, lack of damage or tank diff is what support struggles to make up for the most in OW2. Lack of damage was a bit easier to make up for before the global HP buff and when kiriko could 2 tap and ana could 3 tap. But now, most of support’s damage TTK became too long to be able to easily make up for DPS diff in their team. Even lucio’s damage got nerfed which nobody asked for.
Yes there is bap who is still strong, but that’s literally only one support who still has strong DPS potential, which isn’t enough options. Other forms of damage from other supports are much weaker/less impactful now. Illari is catching up though thanks to the recent buff which she clearly needed.
Okay, good enough, but kill something will you? Don’t just sit there staring.
Might i suggest a better phrase to use. Istead of no peels = no heals, say i cant heal you if im dead.
Imagine asking for peeling with such bloated support kits.
Literally the only supports that actually can’t do anything against dive is Zen and Ana.
Gavlan get no peel, Gavlan give no heal.
-lonesome Gavlan-
support players are so role racist
supports are the best peelers in the game, keep up with the program
I get it but FYI this exactly the same as if your dps said “zero heals zero kills” and actively refused to attack the enemy team the whole game.
Supports do more than just heal, but healing is the primary job. Refusing to do it for any reason is like dps refusing to damage, or tanks refusing to…. Well walk forward and exist I guess. Or like if a rein refused to barrier because he didn’t get healed.
It’s just foolishness that will make your game worse for your whole team including yourself.
It sucks when your team sucks, but sometimes what you really need to do is change your strategy to accommodate your teams poor ability to peel. Example- the play a survivable support. Or if your dps cannot confirm kills, play an agressive support that can help with that.
Also considering your co support- they have way better peel options than dps most of the time, why are they not helping you?
At least you mentioned dps…there’s a bunch of people who think that’s a job exclusive to offtanks
The amount of peel each support needs can vary, but overall…supports cannot heal and duel at the same time.
So yes, playing a more evasive support can help. But if a support has to fight someone, they’re not going to be able to provide much if any heals.
To do anything in this game, you need space. And if you don’t have the space to heal, healing isn’t going to happen.
Controlling space around your support is primarily the job of the DPS. The tank is pressing the front line.
Supports can peel for each other, but that then limits healing resources directed at the tank and DPS.
Furthermore, if a support is forced to duel they often have to use vital CDs that are not going to be available for other teammates.
If you want support to fend for themselves, fine, I’ll play that game. But don’t expect much in the way of heals.
It is in your best interest to keep your supports out of duels and with CDs available for other teammates.
