When Zenyatta says “Pass into the Iris”, ‘Iris’ seems to mean ‘Rainbow’ in Greek. Iris is also the name of a Greek godess and a name. So, Zenyatta basically tells you to pass into the rainbow while shining in only one colour? At the same time, when he says that you need to embrace the rainbow, isn’t it literally meaning: “Be gay.”? Like, yes, casually showing the healing powers of man-to-man love and friendship while telling the enemies to embrace homosexuality too is definetely the most ‘epic’ thing I’ve ever heard.
Also, that could also mean that Zenny is a gay omnic.
Reject Rally, return to rainbow.

If I’m not wrong zenyatas ultimate visually looks like an eye , when u look at it from top , it forms the iris , and I think iris is somewhat related to the new found consciousness in the ai, Moira even says “I must know how your technology functions” , meaning Zen is not just like any other ai out there , even mercy says “zenyatta, I must admit , I do not understand how your healing works”

It’s because humanity has been taking psychoactive substances throughout history and thus been exposed to imagery and concepts that they later incorporate into their culture and mythology such as the Iris and the rainbow colours which later inspired an artist at Blizzard to create a fictional mythology using those general themes.
