Zen stop DPSing

Kind of getting tired of hearing this. Why do people say this? If you haven’t played Zen before he doesn’t have to choose between DPS or healing like other supports do. He can do both at the same time. Maybe what they mean is put your orb on me instead of what you have it on currently although I try my best to decide who the higher value choice at the time is.

If they put out enough damage - they shouldn’t be concerned with Zen doing damage. Just sayin. Most Zens I’ve met are forced to flank and do other kinds of stuff because the DPS aren’t pulling their weight.

one thing that makes people think zen isn’t as effective as he actually is, is that you can’t tell how much extra damage discord orb is giving the team. a nice zen buff would be to make the discorded target a bit more obvious than it currently is

Maybe you’re prioritising damage over healing?

Maybe you’re not in voice chat calling out who you’re discording? (Which is an essential thing you need to do when playing Zen in Comp!)

My guy, this is the second thread you’ve made complaining about your teammates not liking the way you play Zen. If you don’t like what they have to say, stay out of chat lol. But if it’s multiple teammates in different games, maybe watch a few replays and see if they’re onto something?

Kind of getting tired of Zen’s who just throw an orb on a tank then focus dps and never switches to heal anyone else. If you need to dps that bad wait in queue for dps.

no it isn’t, stop pushing voice chat, it’s not nearly as useful as you think it is

Because they are super dumb, i had this several times as zen and I am always amazed. Not like I choose between heal or shooting lmao.

Lol?

Should I not be complaining about crime problem outside and stay closed at home forever and not talk about it instead?

Perhaps it’s not him that needs to change heroes. If you’re taking too much damage as a DPS - you’re probably out of position to begin with and no amount of healing is going to save you. This game isn’t designed around 2 supports pocketing you with you hiding behind a shield. It’s designed so DPS can line of sight when needed and position themselves to align with their team. It’s not always the zen that needs to switch. I grow tired of hearing this day after day. You will notice…the roles are “Tank,” “Damage,” and “SUPPORT.” Correct me if I’m wrong - but nowhere in the roles does it say “Healer.”

So the next time you just can’t kill that enemy hero - and a zen throws an orb (you know…the purple one…) on the enemy for you - make sure to thank him/her. He/She just helped (SUPPORTED) you do your job.

When I play zen, players often break my line of sight so orb cant fully heal them. This often force me to be out if position. Or I could ignore them and let them die

Nope. Sorry. Please re-read my post. A Zen is still a healer and taking a healer spot. If all you can do as Zen is throw an orb on a tank and ignore everyone else (and not even switching the orb around to those who need heals or when the tank dies.) Also, these Zen’s on my team are not even hitting silver dps. I am gold and I am gold and every time I have asked who has silver is usually the other dps or Roadhog.

Queue as dps if you are going to take a healer spot and just focus dps and not even really use your orb.

Maybe. It’s a buff that would help lower rated players for certain, but at the same time we don’t need to raise Zen’s inherent value floor. For anybody who can actually keep their eyes open & notice colors &/or shapes, Discord orb doesn’t need to be any more noticeable.

Same goes for Sombra hack, which many people seem to complain about. If you don’t notice something that still very much has a visual &/or audial tell, pay attention. The game doesn’t need to spoon feed you information.

Though under the context you’re implying, the intent isn’t to make Zen better, it’s rather to take away some of the groundwork people use to flame Zens for their lack of understanding of the game, & that I cannot disagree with.

Zenyatta is a dps healer because of his utility with the orbs if u have a problem with a zen, go play as him and see how he is supposed to be played because zenyatta’s heal orbs are ment for tanks, if you are a flanker u can go find a health pack that is laying around the maps that u don’t need a pocket you guys should just get off competitive, go to practice range or the bots and practice where to flank or move with the tanks if u keep dying as a damage or just adapt to the situation not being a one-trick pony. Damage have 16 heroes to choose from, if the damage can’t adapt then get off of damage and go play tank or support yourself.

I don’t think you understand how zen (or any other support role) works, honestly. They aren’t there to be your personal savior. Zen isn’t a main support either. I think you may want to take a step back, and go research what the supports jobs are. Then go back and revisit what your job is.

Zen’s abilities are as follows:

Orb of Destruction: Energy projectile weapon/Charge to release more projectiles.
Orb of Discord: Launch this orb at enemy to increase the damage they take.
Orb of Harmony: Launch this orb at an ally to heal them.
Ultimate Transcendence: Become invulnerable, move faster, and heal nearby allies.

His ONLY heal ability is orb of harmony and it heals 30 health per second and his ultimate.

He is a SUPPORT, not a healer. His main ability that brings value to your team…is putting the orb on the enemy so they take more damage from you. If you’re not doing your job - that’s not his fault. It’s yours. If you’re taking too much damage - it’s your fault again - not his.

There is not ONE support role that is intended to be your personal pocket heal and savior. NOT ONE.

Zens will only put their ultimate out there if the team is getting dumped on…or to stall a point. The orb is simply supplemental heals meant to compliment the main support’s heals. If a dps is out of position and taking too much damage, it’s easier to let them die so the team is only down 1 instead of being down more because of the dps’s stupidity.

What value do the supports bring to the table?

Mercy: Ressurection/Heals
Moira: Support DPS/Heals
Ana: Nade
Zen: Forces enemy to take more damage
Brig: CC and Rally (armor)
Lucio: Speed
Baptiste: Window and Immortality Field

There are Main Supports and there are Off Supports. Zen is an off support - his job isn’t to “heal” you.

Now. All that said - you can either choose to continue being mad because you’re apparently not very knowledgeable about the game - OR - you can educate yourself and figure out what each role actually does. The same goes for tanks. They aren’t your personal shield. Not all tanks have shields. Tanks create space…supports give you a leg up on killing stuff and can heal you if the need arises - but if you are a smart DPS - they won’t need to baby sit you because you’ll be in position - and will only need heals when the time comes (which is not throughout the entire match)

You really don’t know how the game that is ment to be played then just stop typing, go to practice range as zenyatta and look for yourself that you are the reason why u die too quick because of your position and not looking for a health pack during the fight. Just stop right now before u get kicked

Honestly you don’t seem to have very good reading comprehension and yes I know how he works. Please re-read my post and try and comprehend what I have said. Thanks!

But let me dumb it down even more for you. Zen can heal. Zen has a healing orb. Zen’s I get just throw it out once on a tank and then ignore it the rest of the time even when the tank dies. Zen doesn’t throw out another healing orb to those who need heals. Zen is taking up a healing spot then as we don’t need an extra dps but someone else who can heal.

It is like talking to a wall I swear.

Sounds like you’re fabricating scenarios. If you have time to watch where harmony orb is at all times you are not doing your role properly.

You’re new to the game. In time you will learn this isn’t an MMORPG. In the meantime - I’m very glad we don’t play on the same platform.

Just had a match with you. The junkrat was standing out in the open on the objective in Numbani screaming for heals through the entire match - not line of sighting…and complaining. I ended up getting gold across the board except for objective time. I think you were on Rein and got Gold for objective time. I tried to tell that junkrat that standing out in the open getting shot at by a dVa and a Bastion wasn’t smart and no amount of heals was going to save him.

He was getting very very angry with the supports when he was actually the problem. And nobody could get him to see that he was the problem - so like the poster I was just replying to - he’s going to have to stay mad until he catches a clue.

And that is the problem with most of these players, yes I understand everyone have a favorite hero but if players don’t adapt to the problem then players might called it good game from the start of the match.
