Zen is even more dangerous when you can aim good , but i rarely see a zen that hits alot of shots nor can i well either.
Cuz good Zens are like good Hanzos. Mostly just spamming their shoot button in the direction of the enemy and getting lucky.
kidding
Issues with projectiles. Unless the enemy gives you a good trajectory such as jumping into the air or staying in one direction too long he’ll usually be questionable.
I feel like my aim is better on Zen because, well, I have this big pointer above a target I’ve discorded.
All the projectile heroes play somewhat similar, you end of spamming doorways and good spots for picks when you cant hit reliable shots, since every shot can be dodged
I mean when you learned to ride a bike, did you read a book about how to do it?
It’s projectiles. You have to get used to it. Lower your sensitivity to that sweet spot where you can turn around fast (because tracer is the bane of your existence) but also low enough to semi-confidently aim at heads quickly. Try playing a lot of FFA. Learn the basics: charge your alt fire when bot shooting, try to discord quickly and at a good time (like when you’re about to reload - reloading time is a good time to pre-aim at your discorded target behind the wall, etc, etc.)
Other than that it’s just practice.
Just discord then keep firing around about headlevel for the target. boom grand master zen main.
My aim really started improving around the 75 hour mark. Now at 110 and I’m fairly confident in my aim. Though I still have my derpy moments.
Good god. Have you become one with the Iris?
(I’d post a reaction pic but my stupid trust level declined…)
I’m surprised no one has given you advice yet. Here’s my tips:
- Click each of your shots. Take your time and carefully analyse where the enemy is heading.
- Lead your projectiles. It’s a simple tip but keep it active in your mind when you play, Zen has a fair bit of of lag on his shots and many people miss a lot of shots by undercompensating.
- Use discord to see enemies through walls, surprisingly little players expect you to pop around the corner and burst them down. Many will chase you around corners only to eat volleys.
- Be aggressive. Don’t let the Tracer or Sombra come to you, if you see them coming, be the first person to hit them.
47 Hours on Zen and I have no idea still.
Best to stick with Zen as much as possible. The additional annoyance with projectiles is they have different travel times which can mess you up.
Practice practice practice. FFA is good for this. Playing against bots in a custom mode is good for this. Once Junkenstein’s Revenge comes back that’s a GREAT way to practice your aim, it’s against moving targets, they’re from various ground levels, they force you to reposition as well (without posing too too much of a threat), and there are a lot of them so you can be constantly slinging orbs, fast tracking your aim practice.
Some non-aim related tips. If you’re trying to break down a shield don’t volley, your single shots (M1/R2) have a greater damage per second output. Try to charge your volley only when you’re not currently engaged in a firefight, like while taking cover, approaching the point, rounding a corner, this way you won’t waste time charging when you can be slinging orbs and applying pressure/damage this also gives you the opportunity to harmony/ discord more frequently. Mineral, a former Florida Mayhem coach has a good vod review on a high level Zen where the guy would constantly be charging volleys and explained how that one bad habit kept negatively impacting his gameplay.
Is that the iris you’re cuddling there…?
I mainly focus for example Reinhard shield until it breaks down (left click) or he uses a fire strike. The moment it happens I discord him and I tell my team to go aggressive on him. Even if I just fire at his shield my crosshair is above the rein the whole time in case he lets the shield down. That’s the way with all the tanks, because they are all fat and easy to hit. As for smaller moving enemy’s and long distance I prefer right click and move my mouse a little back and forth on the release. That way I make sure 1-2 shots hit. Exception are enemy’s that do not move at all, e.g. a widow that is aiming at a team mate and not moving. There I use right click and just shoot straight. My mouse sense is pretty low, but that’s my personal preference from playing shooters my whole life. Others have high mouse sense and are very good with it, it really depends on the player. Easiest advice is obviously to aim for the head.
And I feel funny with Junkrat being my most played hero being hours ahead of the others…
But now I gotta ask: Favorite Zen skin?
