Like this hero is so disgustingly broken and it’s not even close. The only time where she isn’t is when they had a mass spam of shields that made 90% of the roster useless…
Maybe other off tanks wouldn’t look like hot garbage if zarya didn’t just straight up out class them in everything.
- Top 3 ult in the game.
- Idiotic amounts of damage output from a tank.
- Easily one of the best protective abilities in the game that literally blocks EVERYTHING. CC, damage, beams, etc etc. The only thing it doesn’t block is hard knock arounds like hammond boop and doom uppercut / punch.
- Bubble’s ability to protect people from silver level positioning plays and idiotic feeders, while at the same time boosting the zarya up.
- The ease of maintaining and obtaining charge to keep your damage up.
Let’s take a second to be real here. D.va AND hog would both be a helluva lot better if zarya wasn’t as she is now. A tank, with one of the best defensive abilities and one of the highest damage outputs in the game period.

People were saying the “She’s only good with Rein,” thing back when the way tanks worked was completely different and she was only good with them.
That stopped after Hog/Zarya, and hasn’t been a real argument since then. I’m not sure why people act like it was common to see anyone say that.
Beyond that, she’s tuned for when tanks were a different power level and should probably be nerfed a bit now.
She’s not disgustingly OP though. She’s a bit much and should probably get a nerf, but she doesn’t need big nerfs.

Good start would be reverting the buff she got that made her must pick during goats.
Because shields are weak now, she gets constant high charge whether or not you have bubble management. With reduced charge rate, she’s one of the heroes that make it impossible to stop snowballing if you manage to get 100 charge (which is stupidly easy now).
She’s not the only issue though. The game has gone towards burst damage rather than sustained damage over last year. Meaning it’s difficult to not get high charge on Zarya.
She isn’t busted in teamplay (Sigma is way better). She’s probably op in the ladder.
While I do like playing with a Zarya, it’s not fun to get melted for 3 minutes if a Zarya manages to stay alive for 30s and nobody focuses her/have pocket healing.
But what do I know about the game.

She’s basically even with Dvas pickrate right now in GM. Both pair fine with Winston. I don’t really see an issue, unless you’re plat or below where rein/Zarya has always been good.

She isn’t basically even, she has a significantly higher pickrate than D.va. And a marginally higher winrate, and she’s not just being with Rein on their maps anymore to justify that. She’s actually just better than D.va on ladder in a meta that D.va should be the better tank in.

On that note, buff D.VA/Hog considering that they aren’t even an option in terms of off tank right now.
They still suffer from their previous nerfs, and Zarya has already had numerous nerfs. Lets not nerf every tank into the dirt.

D.Va’s pickrate is only like that because of Winston being meta, and Brig not being meta. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be remotely close.
I hope you can prove your claim with stats and facts…

Not buffs, but a redistribution of power. I still think she doesn’t need missiles. I’d much rather that power be funneled back into her being a literal face tank

Eh, I’ve come to discover that Micro Missiles add a lot of depth and just fun to her kit. The only buff I want is 12 meter DM. Armor increases would have to be if D.Va is really not doing good, even after a 12 meter DM buff.
D.Va will be super weak after Dive ends. She will need something.

I’m not trying to cause power creep for the tanks. They really just need to do nerfs to her charge, cause whether they get buffed or not it’ll make them problems while at the same time keeping the same problem with zarya prevalent.
Being the best tank in the game for the past 2 months now? Being the tank that can seemingly combo with any other tanks easily? Having straight up better damage than DPS heroes and damage output?
