Zarya can not be in total mayhem

With zarya new kit set up. she can not be taken out or killed. And when both teams have her its nearly a stand still while the rest of both teams fight on point along with both just not dieing

i saw somebody say use doomfist to counter? maybe he has like a “true pushback” that can effect her in shield? idk i tried pharra’s push back, gave up and never qued again lols.

the only way i was able to end the game was to use rein to charge her but it was hard with so many around

it’s like League of legends URF mode, a lot people like that kind of thing haha.

Zarya in Mayhem is absolutely, totally, and utterly broken, and it’s attracted all the worst kinds of players to come and intentionally abuse the mechanic while they can. I’ve seen far too many people playing her as an infinite stall, and at this point, it’s clear that it’s an exploit that desperately needs to be fixed.

Yeah, I spend more time here than playing the game. Especially these last 3 years.

It does sound bad, but I haven’t played the mode yet, so I have to ask:

How is it worse than Winston/Zarya in OW1’s Total Mayhem? OW1 Zarya has a faster bubble cooldown, and a second (self-healing) tank to contest with.

From an outside perspective, OW2 Zarya seems strictly worse in TM than her OW1 version.

It’s REEEALLY bad… I just spent the last 10 minutes in overtime on a total mayhem match. The two Zarya’s literally stood on the payload facing eachother “dueling” the ENTIRE time. Neither one could be killed, it was just bubble, bubble, getting healed, bubble. People were switching to every hero they could think to try. The game could not end.

I just play whoever I want until we get into overtime. Let us hang out in overtime for a minute or two.

Then I switch to sigma. Farm ult in a few seconds. Then lift the enemy Zarya off the point and win.

I agree though. It is annoying.

The enemy Sigma in the game I just left was doing just that. She would crash back onto the payload, and the game just kept going. Endless overtime.

You have a to wait a few minutes. The longer overtime goes on the shorter the timer gets until it’s almost instant. I have won every single time with Sigma lifting Zarya off.

Basically what they need to do is increase the cooldown of bubble. Same thing happened to sleep dart years ago… infinite :zzz:

This is the best solution I think. Even if there was just a second of no bubble that would help.

Almost none of you really grasp how much of a bore this makes mayhem.

It doesn’t matter how good your team is if they have a zarya, the match is now 45 minutes.

The devs hate mayhem, and this is proof they want it to die.

And for all of you that say ‘this is no different from zarya winston’, you really have zero understanding how the game plays.

Old Zarya had a cooldown between bubbles where she could be attacked, hacked, killed, whatever. (I.e., a Junkrat could hit her with two mines between bubbles.) She was vulnerable at times.

New Zarya can use both bubbles on herself for a 99.99% uptime, which means she’s almost invulnerable to all damage, hacks, stuns, freezes, etc. The only things which reliably affect her are Rein charges, Winston ult, another Zarya grav. The only reliable damage solution is something like a Kiriko-boosted Pharah barrage or Hog ult to chew through the bubble and eat her alive.
