You're the one calling us healbots

I’ve seen so many threads lately calling out support for not healing. Yeah, i remember when we voiced our concern about support’s survivability in 5v5 and lots of DPS players told us that we were just mad that we couldn’t just sit behind tanks anymore being healbots. Now that we chose to play more aggressively, you complain for not getting enough heal.

Heal, don’t heal. Pick a lane.

You reap what you sow.

dps players just want to get carried and blame anyone except themselves when they lose

Remember DPS Moira’s being screeched about in the forums?

Yeah guess they were playing the game right all along.

There are no healers in overwatch…they are SUPPORT it was never intended for them to just heal…they are meant to support the team with everything in their kits from their primary heal to the utility abilities…and most importantly their weapons …if they were meant to just sit back and heal then they’d not do any damage and would be called healers…if ur dps and you die while a healer is alive why didn’t you peel back for them to heal you ….or should they just go in while you fight 1v3 to try and save you and have their heals be out damaged just to have to watch you die then get killed themselves…leaving your team down a healer AND feeding twice as much ult charge to the enemy

Exactly! They wanted us to adapt, that what were doing

As long as the moira dpsing can balance dmg/heals right and Have a firm understanding of when you need to pull off to heal…dps players should peel for supports and dpsing supports should know when to peel to heal …in lower ranks I could see them getting tunnel vision but once you get up higher peeling is second nature for most people

Support is all about balance. A support player “should” let the Tanks and DPS do the damage while you can pepper some damage from the backline. The job of support is to keep your team alive, period.

My opinion, assists need to be higher than damage if you are playing support. If I see a Moira with a higher K/D than a DPS or tank player, than its completely clear she isn’t healing and only using her Ult as a healing tool.

Well this is sort of correct …but the high kd be also be attributed to her orb…like if I throw an orb at a hog and it tickles him and you come in and melt down the rest of the damage…we both get An elim…so if you throw it through an entire team and then your team gets a team kill…she gets 5 elims and 5 assists there’s nothing on the stat screen that’s going to tell you if they’re not just a bad support but also for every role as well you aren’t meant to draw conclusions from that board …if they play right they will rank up play bad they will rank down…if you’re in a game with them they’re just as good/bad as you …but yea the support player needs to learn balance or they will be in bronze just like if a dps player can’t learn to peel but because of the nature of the scoreboard itself it’s far from an accurate gauge for skill

I had my teammates get mad at me last night and ask me if I was throwing because I dared to get gold damage with Baptiste…

I went on a cycle where I would flank the enemy healers, kill both of them, and then return to my team and heal them up during the main fight, basically carrying the team to every fight win.

But they were angry about it because I was doing damage instead of heal botting, even though we won the game handily due to my actions…

Lol …it’d also be good to note to them how bap can literally fire his gun and his heals at the same time lmao

Kiriko can also KIND OF do this as well but it alternates which she is doing

Have you thought about straddling the line in the middle of the road? I tend to alternate healing and damage as I feel I need to. It really isn’t a difficult thing to do.

I’m not sure 1 v 5 feeding as Kiriko or Ana is what people meant when they said “adapt and play more aggressively” …

I’ve gotten some heat a few times playing as support and not gluing myself to some DPSes. I’m not going to throw myself away from the team and get out of position because they pushed up too far.

Priority order is other support>Tank>DPS. The only time I disrupt that order is if one of them is dead or one of them is carrying hard and needs it to not die. People are so used to being heal botted from OW1 and it shows.

You can theoretically 1v5 with kiriko but you’re likely only getting 1 kill in the fight before you need to teleport out lol …but as an annoyance it’s great…you should treat her like a mix of tracer/genji/mercy

Oh yeah sure. The issue is people get greedy and don’t know when to bail. They get a pick and overstay their welcome trying to get another only to get glocked by the Mercy who then Rez’s and you are now in a 4 v 5 down one support :joy:

but to be fair, you also need to have team positions awareness to smoothly pull that off. The number of time when i wanted to teleport out, but teammates move a step away and i can no longer teleport out XD

Lol yeah…she’s really fun to play she kind of embodies the intention of supports…with the ability to two shot every character except tanks she’s too valuable to not have doing damage and she’s really one of the best supports for it…you flank pick off a support or dps then teleport back to team which is easier to do after a flank since you’re likely facing their direction already at that point…works really well at the end sections of push mode where your team is close to the spawn door of the enemy …camp outside the door watch their team run out 1 by 1 pick off the support at the back then run through their team while throwing down her invulnerability thing which will protect you and also knock back the enemy and by that time should be close enough to teleport back to your team all before the enemy team damages your team because you acted as a distraction

If you also healed them up, even funnier, because they weren’t mad at you not healing, they were mad you were better at killing than them, lol. Guess they don’t understand the word team…

Yeah I mean you don’t do it while your team is respawning or anything it’s about timing your engagement with your team arriving in a spot to teleport to…don’t rely on them to get close enough for you…you should always make sure you’re close enough to them to get back if you intend to be away

Love the damage role players just SILENTLY hiding behind the support expecting heals. Come on this is a 1st person shooter and you think standing behind the FoV of the support will get you heals, HOW are we supposed to know you need healing?
