Basically what it says on the tin, you’re forced to only play characters belonging to the same nationality and/or ethnicity as you. As a side note, preemptive apologies if anyone takes this the wrong way, just trying to have a little fun.

Anyways, as for me I’m limited to Mei (chinese), Widowmaker (French), Tracer (English) and Pharah (she’s half canadian, so she counts).

McCree, because 'Murica, and he’s a southern gentleman (I was born and raised in Arkansas, live in Washington now). And Demoman, because OW doesn’t have a Scottish hero (yet).

I’m Japanese and Iranian.

I can probably play only Ana, Pharah, Genji, and Hanzo.

Mei, Zarya and D.Va, that’s literally it. Well, I guess Widowmaker isn’t my main anymore.

American. McCree is very fun to play, even if I can’t aim for beans. I’ll accept it.

Why?
I am Asian, so no Euproean or American heroes, and no dark skinned heroes like Doomfist.
And certainly no animal heroes like Winston and Hammond.

That’s Widowmaker only for me as there are no ukrainian or lithuanian heroes. Could be a less fun hero, but I suck at her… And I’ll dearly miss my main.
